Why would you want everyone to be the same? Having different races and cultures is what makes the World interesting.
I would hate to go to a country and everyone look the same, all the food taste the same, everyone speak the same language, use the same currency and all have the same backgrounds. That would be awful.

There is good and bad people on both sides.
Heh, Question Time is a good example. It is also used in a way to get good coverage or all over the press. Look at the amount of people and programmes thats created to get people all rilled up for viewing figures and ratings. Or to get them all heated on social media so the journalists can report it.

Racism is caused by over education of the subject.
At school kids are just constantly being reminded that there are differences.
Doesn't matter how big or small they are, eventually the kids will start to hate the fact that they are being forced to accept it.
Teaching racism, only creates racism.

the thing is, for people to realise that whilst the news might be filled with [insert race/religion here] is commiting [insert atrocity here] that its not indicative of the whole population.
another possibility is to realise that as a 'race' we're hardly squeaky clean ourselves, the only difference between muslims killing christian infidels and christians killing muslim infidels is merely a matter of time.

There is some real nasty lecturers out there.
Because the act of being marginalised means there's ghettoisation, therefore it's going to be black on black crime in a black neighbourhood.

For the same reason that most people arrested in the early years of Operation Trident weren't white.
Though that's changing now due to our lives being enriched by the various Eastern European criminal organisations.

The problem is that the liberal media/PC thought police will brand anyone saying that any ethnic minority / culture or immigration isn't 100% lovely a racist.

Honestly though I doubt even this would be enough to unite humanity, instead you would see opposing factions of humanity attempt to sell their rivals out and ally with the aliens. Israelis and Palestinians setting aside their differences to unite against a common enemy? Hell will freeze over first.
