Back to work blues

I've got another week off before I'm back to uni a week on Tuesday.

Tbh though, I'm kinda missing the lectures and having no assignments due in so I'm looking forward to going back.

Uni doesn't count.... It's generally a doss and cannot be compared to the cold, crowded very early morning commute, followed by work nonsense. :p

Today is just plain horrible for me. Didn't get to sleep till about 4. At the train station for 7:30 buying my £345 monthly ticket (that i get reimbursed, but it's still ridiculous).

Was in every day except the bank hols/weekends over the holidays so it's pretty much just business as usual for me. No blues :p

I'm feeling the same. I was working last week, but it was really quiet so since I work from home I didn't have much to do and redecorated my bedroom :p and it meant I could catch up on my emails.

Yeah its always crap going back to work. 200+ emails to check and delete...meh.

It's not too bad in my current place with only a couple of hundred per day. But at my last company when I returned after a week off it averaged 1500 emails per day (admittedly a lot were automated alerts that I ruled to various folders).

Email is out of control in many companies.

There are a million better ways to do system alerts than email. If you get 1500 automated alerts a day how do you hope to spot trends? Send that stuff into Splunk.

I felt pretty good about coming back to work this morning. Having a job I enjoy with people I like makes a big difference.

My main problem was remembering my network password after 16 days off.

I love my job. I don't understand people who constantly moan about theirs. If you feel there's something wrong, change it.

My only problem is I can't shake the tonsilitis I've had since Christmas eve :(

I'm back in work on Tuesday after the past 2 weeks off. Hopefully things won't be too chaotic and it'll be an easy return. Having said that...I know it won't be.

Because it's that easy..... I actually quite like my job, but I'm still depressed coming back after 10 days + off over Christmas. Not everyone who doesn't like their job can just drop everything and take a completely new job and/ or career path.

Back today after two weeks. Everything on the server we were working on after the 9th of December has been lost.

Some clean up :D Now need the latest server back up.

I decided to knock one out and go back to sleep for a few more hours.

Just got up, fresh as a daisy. Now, time for bacon!
