Found this little snippet under AMD's GPU operation being moved to GloFo.

The company hasn't abandoned TSMC completely just yet, with reports speaking of AMD using the Taiwanese fab's 16 nm FinFet node to manufacture its next-generation "Zen" CPUs. Zen is the successor to AMD's "Bulldozer" architecture and its derivatives ("Piledriver" and "Steamroller.") It could feature a radically different core design.

Would be interesting to see how these pan out. I'm kind of getting a little bit fidgety. My 3570k is still more than adequate, but if when DX12 drops and it shows that i7's and cpu's with more cores scale better, then I don’t know how long I will be able to stop my self upgrading!

If they can improve IPC with these chips whilst still maintaining multi threaded performance (even increase it) these would be interesting chips. And also cheaper than Intel! Which in turn should bring down Intel prices!

Hopefully this time, AMD can get their CPU's right!

Well, they sacked the Bulldozer architect and re-hired Jim Keller, the K7 (Athlon XP) and K8 (Athlon 64) architect.

Think it's a safe bet that whatever comes next will be a lot better than Bulldozer and it's offspring.

Even if you include things that will be available in 2016 like die shrinks and DDR4, with a new CPU architecture and chipset it would have to be truly woeful and a fail of epic proportions to be worse than Bulldozer :p

I've got faith in AMD that what's coming will be much much better..

"we saw some people on a forum speculating" = "reports"

Tech journalism is absolute rubbish when it comes to this stuff. And people go around posting it like it's gospel.

Too much of a blanket statement. Like all news: research, analyse and find the truth from the point of origin.

It's always good to hear AMD is still alive, even though Intel has been laughing at them since Bulldozer 2012 (or if your cynical, anything after Athlon).

There is no point of origin. Just vague speculation based purely on the fact that, hey, TSMC have this new process that just went into risk. Despite AMD not being listed as a partner.

Wasn't there rumour that AMD are moving to GloFo 28nm SHP?

Edit, wrong room... ignore me.
