Pimp my room

Would have plenty left if budget is 1000 - 2000 :D I tell you it would be wort every penny :D or maybe not if you dont watch tv. Even then I wouldnt go for a cheap bed (anything under £300) it is after all bedroom!

Plus I would have wooden floor instead of carpet but thats just me hating carpets. They are so unhygienic

Decided to do some rough crap in Photoshop, I need more ideas/inspiration :D

That lacks of clothes storage space! I think your room is the same layout as ours + same size and if so you can fit a lot in that space :D Might be smaller but not sure.
What colours do you like/want?

yeah, I need something for clothes :D

I think black and white? :p

White floor/carpet, black curtains (?), black double bed, white duvet set, black/white chair, white desk (?), black monitors/TV, I would need shelving, lighting, storage for clothes, idk about the walls, etc etc

How about ottoman one? There is a lot of online shops you can order from and they arent too expensive. Or just go to pretty much any bed store and they have some type of ottoman one. They all seem to be black or white as well so thats worth looking in to.

You'd need to double check measurements etc but I'd be looking at one of these layouts personally :)

Alternatively you could spend roughly 2k on one of these :)

lsg1r's first option looks most efficient use of space.

Make a desk from a Kitchen work surface mounted to fill that space entirely. Wall mount the TV.

ps: thanks for the link :P

I measured ours and your room is sligthly bigger than what we have and we fit a double bed, 2 bedside tables 2 chest of drawers, 1 bookcase and 2 wardrobes. You got plenty of space for everything its just how you use the space.

I think the beds etc are a bit bigger what they really would be on that website but anyways I would go for this type of layout... If it really would be that small space I would have sliding doors on the wardrobe but it shouldnt if the measurments are right

pinkowl, you've stuck the bed in front of the radiator... yeah I know it's not shown on the plan, it's in the pictures though, it's a right pita to work around lol.

if you want to be a cheap ass just use your current desk to make a new one

alternatively you could just get some really nice pieces of solid wood cut to size for you at a timberyard, bnq or wherever

Could leave a gap between the bed and the radiator? I suppose you could always put the bed on the opposite wall of the wardrobe to avoid that...

edit/ are you sure the measurements are correct? In the picture your room looks a lot smaller than ours but on the measurements it is bigger...

Yeah, measurements are correct.

I quite like that layout, but my radiator is there as said above. But we shall see what I can come up with when I order a bed soon.

yeah best to just try it out. I tried few layouts before I found the best for us so just keep rotating everything :D

Not the exact one as that but the same style and it ended up breaking where the long side connected with the end, so got rid.

As others have said look at Otterman style beds or at least Divans with drawers that gives you a bit of storage in otherwise wasted space.

I now have one like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-4ft-6...=UK_Home_Garden_Beds&var=&hash=item2ebf28361f and it seems great.

The important thing with a bed is to ensure you get a good mattress.

Not 100% on prices hut you could do this if you turn the radiator off and get electric underfloor heating (or plumb it in using the existing radiator pipes). I'd suggest a hard floor (laminate probably) too.

Edit: You won't need the heating to cover the entire room, just the walkways.

Am I calculating this right?

Let's say my room as as full 'square' is 3.83m by 3.25m, that is 12.4m2. Ikea is selling Tundra Laminated flooring, white oak effect for £7 / m2. That only comes to around £87, but I would need less because of the awkward shape in the room.

That seems extremely cheap...?

They sell it by pack which is £16,73 a pack.
you need 6 packs of them which comes to £100,38. You might just about manage with 5 packs... // Actually 5 will be enough wont it!
