It was specific to a server glitch on new years night - people were taking cargo to a station and selling it, but cargo wasn't disappearing from their cargo hold - so they could keep selling and selling and selling, either by flying out and flying in again OR just repeatedly opening the trading menu (one or the other)

I see the bugs haven't changed mush since the Frontier days, :D

(installing and occupying a passenger cabin then trying to trade your ship for a interplanetary shuttle) You got the money but kept the ship due to the passenger!

Just been reading on this over at blues. Surprised this one slipped under frontiers radar.

Network hangs and duping exploits were common in eve in 2003, it happened to me a few times in innocence.

Always dubious when the company says they'll ban, saw it a few times in eve with people i knew were exploiting that never got sledged.

Finally got my Clipper, it really is a thing of beauty :)

It really is isn't it - I miss mine tbh, I'll probably re-buy one for exploration and trading when I have the spare cash, it has such an awesome sound too.

I actually don't like killing them at nav beacons because they're such cool looking things! :D

rofl

There was an exploit at founders world (permit system for alpha backers) (I think it's fixed now) where you could buy modules at a 10% discount, then fly to the next system and sell them at the full retail price, and keep doing it at a profit over and over, (if you're buying A7 shield generators and stuff, it's going to work out at quite a profit..)

ok so i noticed that i had an Eagle in storage, so i found it and sold it and now have 40k burning a hole in my pocket.

A couple of questions. If i die will i start over again with the Eagle in storage or was it just a one off thing for kickstarters?

Im tempted to get a Loader thing since it has so much cargo capacity. Im playing with an online account, what are the chances of some griefer taking me out? That will just annoy so i would rather get something with smaller cargo but bigger guns?

as long as you dont spend all yer credits and keep enough aside for insurance dont worry about dying. Once you have cargo ship cash is easy

Problem with the clipper seems to be the hard-point positions. The two outer ones are so far apart using fixed weapons just isn't an option.

It does look lurverley though. The Imperials seem to have the only 'futuristic' ships in the game.

Still want a python though.

Ohwell , scratch that, i thought it said 17k for the hauler,on closer examination it was 17million!

So how do you get anywhere with just 4tonnes cargo space!

I would recommend doing bulletining board missions until have enough for hauler then upgrade. Or for more fun if get bored of trading try yer hand at bounty hunting

No way! My Hauler was definitely the cheap & cheerful option; I think it was the second ship I had, excluding my Freagle

17,000 sounds low, but it can't have been more than double that.

Had a mad hour bounty hunting at a resource extraction site...Normally they spawn Sidewinders or Cobras but this one was Anaconda after Anaconda with bounties from 55 to 180K. Easy pickings for my Python, made well over 2 million.

rofl nice, I normally get 1 or 2 anacondas per hour in my usual spot, so sounds like you had a good time. I made about a million tonight killing ASPs and numerous other stuff including several human players who decided to have a go, for no reason at all..

One guy in a tricked-out Viper wasn't too happy with me killing stuff near him, before I knew it without warning, whilst I was hammering an NPC he turned up behind me and emptied his missile racks and multi-cannons into me leaving with my half-shields, managed to line him up and within 10 seconds he was scrap.,.. silly person. - was funny as hell though, wish I'd recorded it.. 2 other people had a go (also in pimped Vipers) one got smashed, the other had a 30k bounty and managed to escape with 15% hull, absolutely no idea why they were attacking me..

Absolutely loving the Python as a combat ship, it's intimidating as hell head on - just a big dark pyramid covered in guns, :D

I WANT MY PYTHON.

Currently grinding in a Type 7. Found a great route three systems all one jump all <200ls from star. Making 1500, 560 and 1020 pt on each leg totals 670k profit per round trip. Made 6 million since Saturday evening when I got my Type 7.

Net worth is nor 29 million so only another 35million to go - a couple of weeks if I can bear to stick at it. Can't wait.

Has anyone done much bounty hunting in a Viper? I'm currently rocking some gimballed cannons and fixed beam lasers and whilst I'm taking stuff down (inc 100k bounty Anacondas) it certainly isn't a quick affair. I'm depleting my cannon ammo pretty quickly too.

Are you targeting sub systems?

Dear Lord, the more I read about this game design, the more I never want to get into it, and I am a space sim fan who has played just about everything over the years.

Weeks of monotonous and uneventful grinding to get any major upgrade seems standard, and is my life so dull that I want to put so many hours of my free time into making cargo runs? It just seems so incredibly pointless.
