Fatties gonna fat....

Been there, done that. Tried exercising, tried dieting, tried counting calories, tried eating healthy.

You might think I'm lazy with a can't be arsed attitude, you don't know me. I genuinely find it difficult.

I don't find healthy food tasty or filling at all.

Healthy food encompasses an awful lot of meals; I find it hard to believe none of them appeal to you.

The vast majority of foods can be a part of a healthy diet, you just need to cut out specifics.

What is it you describe as 'healthy foods'? Because as others have said that's A LOT of food you're talking about there.

Also, I'm fairly sure that a lot of being hungry involves your brain recognising when it regularly expects food intake and saying "Hey, I normally get food now! FYI". So some of it is to do with retraining your brain and coming up with a healthier routine for when you eat(same goes with sleep actually). Sure, at first you'll always be hungry but then you will adjust.

Everything in the human body works better in routine.

I eat three meals a day, sometimes skip breakfast if I don't feel like eating. I do eat large portions but only for tea.

I've tried the whole eat slowly, chew/savor your food more than normal, eat small portions, have a "normal" portion but always leave some on the plate, fill up with water.

I don't like lettuce, cucumber, tomato or carrots so anything containing those is out. Low fat and sugar free tastes awful to me as well.

I have cut out fizzy drinks for the most part, I try to drink water and rarely skimmed milk with brews etc..

When I was calorie counting I very rarely went above 2000 calories, usually hovered around 1400-1700 mark.

These threads are always amusing. Obese people slowly crawl out of the wood work blaming others for their issues be it nutrional naivety, stress, lack of willpower or because of cruel comments from others. Pathetic.

I never blamed it on others, I know I'm fat because I stuffed my face. Ever had depression? I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Looking/talking down at people is part of the problem as well.

Low fat and sugar free are often just as bad for you I have to say(but in different ways). The sweeteners and flavourings used are pretty awful. Not that I can preach, I used to drink A LOT of fizzy.

It's also often about eating the right foods. I don't have the time to make you up a meal plan but there are plenty of foods that (even though they should be healthier) are actually still quite poor if they are, for example, still heavily processed.

Also, I know it's cliche but you should never skip breakfast :D

Last thing: depression sucks. Try not to feel guilty about reneging on dietary plans to have a treat. All sensible diets make allowances for treats.

That's all I eat, processed stuff like spicy chicken fillets/strips, turkey drummers, oven chips etc..

Sometimes I have half a steak, some sausages or make a spag bol with mince from butchers.

Thanks for the advice.

Home made shepherds pies, casseroles, chilli and curry can be healthy eating. When browning the meat drain off the fat. Potatoes are filling and a lot less fattening than many processed foods. A jacket potato with chilli beef and a sprinkle of cheese makes a good meal.

Replace the processed chicken with fresh chicken breasts, replace chips with rice/cous cous/loads of other things, add any veg.

Half a steak or some sausages every so often, great. Spag bol, sure. Combine this with a bit of walking or running each day, and your weight will tumble.

That's alright glad I could be helpful. :)

There is a science as to why some of the more processed things aren't very useful for your body but the long and short of it is: If your body doesn't approve of it, it gets stored as fat. And 'heavily processed' is shorthand for 'all the goodness has been removed'.

I don't know it all by a long shot, and there is still tons that I do wrong(because I like the taste or whatever). But being aware of what you're doing to your body is never bad. At least then it's up to you whether you take action given the knowledge.

maybe swap all that fatty meat with pasta and tuna?

i pretty much eat a big bowl of pasta/tuna and sauce with bread every day and i resemble a stick.

Chicken thighs are a good way to go the meat is juicer than chicken breast and so a nicer change he when coming from the processed stuff

One doesn't need to eat healthily to lose weight.

I lost 11 stone 10 pound, largely eating rubbish.

Eat less than 2,000 calories/day and walk five miles. It's easy.

Threads:
I'm down by 140 pounds.

I'm half the man I used to be.

Calories in vs calories out. It ain't rocket science and anyone who says it doesn't work isn't counting their calories properly.

I accept that I now eat a lot healthier than I did but the majority of my weight loss was still while eating rubbish, just exercising very strict portion control.

i cant get over how different your head looks i genuinely dint think it could change th shape of your head/face that much

I don't think it has changed it that much, yes it's not as round but what you're missing is the huge neck from underneath it.

Vertical stripes work wonders

Lol! I completely dropped sugar and all sweet things that I didn't make myself self, substituting stevia for sugar 55p per 100 pills from aldi, pumpkin pie was epic, for hidden sugar i compare the info on packs and always choose the least sugar, my biggest treat is a marks and spencer eclair with the chocolate pulled off.

To think this will have no impact on the average weight of the population is frankly stupid even for this forum. People will naturally go for the easy option, the path of least resistance unless they have a certain amount of willpower of self-control to avoid this.

This is the point I've been making, you on the other hand are simply providing dribble as content in your posts.

Way to miss my point. I'm saying that people that take the easy option deserve to be fat.

But as usual here you are - defender of the lazy, ****less porker.

Perfect thread for feek to show just what an epic change can be made.
I guess you must have used some kind of witchcraft. Or magic. Or...wait, no...you just ate less and moved more. It's almost like it worked!
