My specs are in my sig and I'm looking for a change to my Akasa FreedomXone case and am considering one of the following:

BitFenix Ghost Silent Tower

or

Corsair Carbide 330R Silent Tower

Both fit the bill in that they have USB 3.0 on the front panel (my understanding is that the single USB 3.0 header on my motherboard will support 2 x USB 3.0 ports??), both have sound dampening and dust filters, will accommodate my existing GPU (275mm long) and aren't more than 230mm wide so will fit in my under-desk bracket!

Does anyone have any thoughts either way on these cases or any others I should be considering?

Thanks for any feedback....

I have two more alternatives,

Antec P100 and P280.

A single 19pin (or 20pin can t remember) does support two USB3.0.

Hmmm, quite like the look of the P100 (similar sleek lines to the other two!) but the P280 looks to be an annoying 1mm too wide at 231mm (and it really is 230mm maximum!)

Any reason you'd pick the Antec over either of the other two? (construction quality, ease of cabling etc??)

Antec cases are well made, the rep is present on the forums all the time and is a very helpful chap.

They both have excellent reviews behind them and the construction of them is exceptional.

I reviewed an older Antec case many months ago and it was built like a tank.

I was also looking at all 3 of these case, bitfenix, corsair and antec p100 and ended up with the p100, iirc the p100 had a better balance between temps and noise in reviews.

I love mine, looks great, good cable management etc.

My only complaint with the p100 is the front door, it is very flimsy and feels cheap, mine gets stuck too so when I want to close it, I have to hold/squeeze down the top part + it also has a big scratch down the foam pad.... Not big enough issues to really annoy me though.

Can anyone tell me the measurements between the feet front to back on both the Antec P100 and the Corsair 330R? (Ideally the furthest edge of each foot)

I've a feeling that the Antec might not fit as my bracket is only 450mm deep as the website says it's 523mm deep whereas the 330R is only 495mm deep so probably has a better chance of the feet fitting on the platform! (It's open at each end so a bit of overhang will be OK!)

Thanks...

About 44cm for the p100.

I have the front feet sitting about half way of my desk.

Thanks!

Just so I'm understanding correctly, is it 44cm from the furthest edge of each foot or the closest edge? (my platform is 45cm so not got much space to play with if it's the closest edge of each foot as that would only leave each foot about half a centimeter on the surface!)

Yup it is the furthest edge.

I have mine sitting like this:

I could put it further back but then there isn't much room for the exhaust at the back.

Yup it is the furthest edge.

Thanks for this!!! :)

I was afraid I'd be restricted to the Corsair 330R due to the length of the case and my limited space but at 44cm both feet should fit with a centimeter to spare! :D

Anyway I've gone for the Antec after reading various reviews and opinions on it - would have preferred one where the front opened from either side as the case sits to my right but as I'll rarely be using the DVD I can't see it being a huge issue!

The Ghost and the Nanoxia cases look nice but are a tad too high for me - they would fit but only just!

Thanks for all the help guys....

Well my new P100 landed today and I have to say the audible difference is astounding! :D

Lots of room to work with inside and it looks the business from the outside!

Only issue I encountered (which was no fault of the case) was that the 8-pin power connector from my OCZ PSU wasn't quite long enough to route behind the motherboard and back out so I've ended up threading it through the gap between the motherboard and the GPU near the screw-end! (can't see why this is an issue other than the "untidyness" aspect!?!?)

What are the best temperature programs/gizmo's out there to keep an eye on the temps to make sure the internals aren't getting too toasty??
