Hi all. Just looking for some quick advice. I have a gaming pc so I am not looking for a massively impressive laptop but I would like one for no more than £500 really. I found the Lenovo Z50-70 for £500. What do you all think of it's specs? I'd be looking to mainly play football manager and (if possible, although I doubt it) games like starcraft 2 (not necessarily on full graphics, more just casual matches as I do quite a bit of travelling with work (may sometimes be away for a week or so) so need to keep myself occupied.

What do you think of this laptop as an option? Are there any better ones you could recommend for this budget? I can go slightly over but would like to stay close to 500 if possible. I obviously don't expect any of you to do all of the work for me in finding me a laptop but any help would be great.

If its any help I'm in the same predicament and after looking around I have come up with that Lenovo too and will be ordering one shortly. Seems a decent spec for the money unless anyone knows better ?

Cheers

I'm lead to believe from another forum that Intel Processors with their model number ending in U or Y should ideally be avoided (do you know anything about this?). Just looking at the HP ENVY Touchsmart 15-j184sa. It's more expensive at 640 but has the following specs:

Intel Core i5-4200M processor (2.5 GHz)
4GB DDR3L RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT840M (2GB GDDR3)
1TB SSHD

Does anyone know if it's worth the extra 140 for those specs? Any other advice?

I took delivery of a Lenovo Z50-75 the other day but will be sending it back.

Battery life was terrible and even though the screen is 1080p it's not very good.

Help With Laptop Choices

I took delivery of a Lenovo Z50-75 the other day but will be sending it back.

Battery life was terrible and even though the screen is 1080p it's not very good.

Cheers for the heads up. I've decided I can afford up to 800. I've got three options ( for anyone that can help) and will probably get one tomorrow:

HP ENVY 15-J181na 15.6" - £800

Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ processor
Memory: 12 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 840M
1 TB SSHD, 5400 rpm
Unsure on battery life (think it might be four hours)

ACER Aspire V3-772G 17.3” - £800

Intel® Core™ i7-4702MQ processor
Memory: 16 GB
Hard drive: TB HDD, 5400 rpm
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
Battery life: Up to three hours

HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j184sa 15.6" - £640

Intel® Core™ i5-4200M processor
Memory: 4 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 840M
1 TB SSHD, 5400 rpm
Unsure on battery life (Think it might be 5 hours)

Are these decent for the money? Which would you say is best for the price?
