Yeah, I'm sure having the vast majority of untrained civilians armed with assault rifles would certainly prevent/reduce these sort of incidents. I mean, look how well having an armed population in the US works, you hardly ever hear of shootings over there...
In USA people have guns, so why can't we have them in Europe?! The rifle would be very expensive to buy anyway, so not that many people could actually afford it and I don't think many would get permission to own a gun anyway.

AKs usually are loaded with FMJ AP rounds. The standard AK food. Remember the AK complies with the GC which forbids HP ammo. FMJ does not open up like a soft projectile, soft point, or HP hunting rounds. Through the head they will just make a single hole in and out. A hunting round will open up as it passes through and make a mess on the other side.
You getting a mess when you shoot an animal in the head with a hunting round, has ZERO correlation with someone getting shot with FMJ AP ammo.
There is plenty of documentary and video of NK executing people with AKs using FMJ AP ammo, and there is no blood or brains flying all over the place. All you see at first is the puff of dust in the ground in front of the person where the bullet hits the ground after it exits the head, then the blood starts coming out the holes in the head after a second or two. Usually after the body has slumped onto the ground.
If the officer already got a mortal wound and was in the last stages of death from blood loss or a direct hit to the heart, there may not even be blood coming out of a direct head wound. You need blood pressure to produce the bleeding. If the blood has leaked out internally, then there is none left in the circulatory system to bleed out of the head when he is hit there.
And if you have ACTUALLY HUNTED, then you should know about cardiac reserve. Even if a person or animal gets a direct heart shot, and loses all blood pressure, they still have ten to twenty seconds of usable movement left. Just because they are moving does not mean they have any blood left in their system to bleed out.
Being shot isn’t like the movies. People that get a direct heart shot, do not always fall on the floor with a thump. Falling on the floor instantly is more a result of a shock response, not the actual effect from your heart getting destroyed.
I have worked on a farm my entire life. I have had the unpleasant duty to put down countless animals. And I have had to shoot many wild animals. I KNOW how variable the results are. And how much the results depend on the bullet/gun used. Sometimes it’s messy, sometimes you can’t even find a drop of blood even though you KNOW the bullet when clean through them. There is a hole in the board behind them, and they are dead. But you can’t find a single drop of blood on them.
That is why it infuriates me so much when people start yelling Fake this or fake that because of their own painful ignorance.

I don't need a gun where I live since its pretty peaceful. But in places such as Luton if you could carry a gun you probably would, so people should be allowed to defend themselves.
