Left cash in ATM

T'was only £20, but I've annoyed myself. There was no queue behind me, relatively quiet ATM at a small supermarket, so the ATM might have taken the cash back in.

Do banks refund this? If it's gone it's gone, just be glad it wasn't more, just wondering what the odds are.

Hurrrr. I realise that if someone took it it's gone, I mean if the atm sucked it back in. What happens to it?

I believe the machine detects it, and the next time the man gets in the cash machine, you should get refunded.

This happened to me recently if you leave it too long the machine pulls it back in.

If it was a busy place then consider it gone and cry in a corner and post a picture on Facebook showing your despair.

I've done this once before lol. Hilarious in retrospect.

It does take it back if you don't take it after a few seconds.

If someone took it, unlucky. If the machine took it back it'll show back in your account in a few days. (talking from experience)

I've done this once at an ATM in a petrol station, I phoned first direct (my bank) who dealt with it very well and said that the machines are reconciled every so often, and once they get the information they could confirm that it was a legit no take. They actually refunded my money immediately but said if they didn't get the confirmation they'd debit it again, but i heard nothing so I presume it was confirmed.

Still struggling to understand how a person can draw money out of a cash machine and not take it when it pops out..........

Sorry how does this work? You go to an ATM for cash, press all the necessary buttons then walk away. Have I missed something, were you drunk, distracted by a beautiful and naked girl?

done this before with a rather large amount... darn barclays changed their UI to a colour one without any prompts, so I just worked off thinking the machine was busted to one around the corner, only to realise after using a second machine with the same new UI that it doesn't prompt you when the money was being counted. This one had a louder counting device so I could hear it.

I called both banks to explain, but they was having none of it.

I have had people do it a few time with me after them inline, but I've always taken the money and then handed it to them. One woman started running away from me as I ran towards her trying to give her; her cash.. lol

You'll most likely get this refunded. Give your bank a call and explain what happened. You might be surprised at how clever the machines which churn out your cash actually are.
