Anyone been following this game lately? It's due out on early access in just over a week. Anyone pre ordered it?

Looks great imho.........then i read that that it's "exclusively designed for the pc". REALLY!!!?? :rolleyes:

Is that why the largest maps allow up to 16 players?!
six ******* teen. Balls to that. That's port/console territory.

CLASSIC MAPS offer very fast-paced gameplay in small to medium-sized maps for up to 8 players, while MASSIVE MAPS feature more strategic gameplay in bigger environments for up to 16 players. Vehicles (gliders, attack-bombers, hoverbikes and other ground vehicles) are exclusively available in Massive Maps.

16 players does not equate to massive in my eyes.

Lol, dunno why it made me so angry, but 16 sucks the fat one.
Any online pc game should be able to accommodate a min of 32 players nowadays.

For shame!
 
Pre-ordered aged ago and almost forgot about it tbh.

I don't see why PC games have to have 32 players? Always preferred small, arena shooters personally....
 
Nah not me. When vehicles are involved, most want to have a play in them. With only 8-a-side that doesnt leave much imho.
I started playing UT from the beginning. Always preferred bigger maps with plenty of players.

I've paid my damned money too.......lol.
 
Yeah I think with some of the larger vehichle maps that 16 is a little small but I've played UT2004 at lan with about 8 people and it was a blast.
 
I'm not sure why anyone would think 32 players is necessary for an arena shooter at all. Most UT99 maps would simply not have functioned properly with 32 players... it would've been awful.

32+ seems to be a thing brought along by modern shooters such as Battlefield, which are truly the antithesis of this game.

We used to have a blast when we had an OcUK UT server, and I'm sure there were never more than 16 playing at once.
 
Looks dire given it claims to be that of something from 99 (which is fine) then decides to include vehicles.
 
I am liking this but it is making my head spin due to last nights beers. Got 3 copies up in the Members Market if anybody is interested.
 
Played it last night and enjoyed it.
I know it's only the alpha and there's only one map, so I actually got bored after 2 games.
Look forward to seeing it develop further.
