Hello all,

My laptop is just displaying a blank screen. There is power LED and a padlock with the number 1 inside on. Also, when I put the battery in it charges fine.

I have tried:

Removing the battery, the power lead and holding down the power button for 1 minute(seems to fix similar problems). It does nothing.

I've tried turning it on without battery.

I've connected it to my TV and still nothing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it's my gaming laptop!

When u connected it to your TV do you not need to press an

FN key + (some thing else to swicth displays?)

I assume you have no display even when you turn it on or is it just in windows you have no display?.

Make sure you dont need to press and FN key or some other combination to get an external display to work.

If not and you have no display at all I am thinking GPU?.

If you get a display on an external screen I am thinking inverter or back light?.

I dont know much about this laptop though

Thanks for your input :)

There are no noises or anything coming from the laptop, it's baffling. I think I might have to take it apart...

have you tryed takeing the battery out and leaving it out with just the charger in and turning it on?

Yeah, it actually starts charging the battery. Some of the LEDs work on the laptop. One that I can't remember stands for, is a padlock locked with the number 1 in the middle, that's on, whatever it is.

Padlock with number 1 is your num lock.

since you can get to your HDD easily enough, that would be my first check, remove your battery first "remove and reinsert HDD, and also your refit your RAM

Edit: just a thought is the number lock led ON as soon as you reinsert battery without pressing the ON button
