Harbinger Down (sci-fi/horror with practical FX)

Not sure if many others have heard of or are looking out for this film?
It'll be out sometime in 2015 - just depends if it's getting cinema release or straight to DVD.

Still - it's very old school sci-fi/horror in the vein of The Thing and Alien by a great studio and using no crappy CGI. Meaning it can actually be creepy.

The Thing is my all time fave sci-fi movie so this looks right up my street. Really hope it gets a UK cinema release but can't wait for it either way.

I hadn't heard of it but it does look like its worth a watch, The Thing is also one of my favourite Sci-fi movies, my only moan about this is that it looks way too similar in my opinion.

Yeah that's true - it certainly seems very similar. I don't really mind as plenty other films are very similar and I like them all so as long as it's good in its own right I'm fine with it.

Plus, it has been over 30 years since The Thing (I never watched the recent one).

Hopefully it does offer some uniqueness though

Sounds good - didnt watch the trailer - I find not watching trailers increases the enjoyment of the film.

True about watching trailers - I try to avoid them. It's all I've seen for this though and it was pretty short so not as bad as a lot of the blockbuster trailers.

My tastes in movies are not all good. lol - I have 120+ blurays and many of them are considered pretty naff by many but I like a lot. Event Horizon runs it close but The Thing is just stunning. My wife prefers Alien but they are both classics.

The new one is pretty good and you see how the original started
