Best VPN in 2015?

Need to use a VPN for accessing subscriptions in UK. Currently based in Spain. Which provider and service would people recommend? I've been considering BlackVPN. Does anyone have any experience with them? They also offer routers to access their service and wondered what people's opinions were on these?
Any help or advice would be great.
 
I've used Air VPN for a few years now and very rarely have any issues with them.

Reasonably good speeds and I think they have a server in Spain too.
 
Air is the only one I've tried,when I was researching into a service to use a while back they appeared to be the best and I've not changed since.

Things to look for are where the provider is based,if it's in the USA then it is required by law to keep logs etc so if you are happy with that then use a US based VPN,if you want a truly private VPN that won't log you then go for a VPN that states that in it's provisions etc.

I thought about trying these guys,

but after a quick google they don't appear to have the best customer service.

if you have a quick look around their forums you'll see that they have a similar set up to here and if you put a little bit in you get a fair bit back when it comes to the more esoteric aspects.

I have a 55Mbps connection here in the UK and currently using HTTPS 443 TCP connection to an Amsterdam VPN server I'm getting 11/12Mbps which is enough for regular traffic and even some reasonable video streaming but if I wanted I could choose a different connection type and get about 45Mbps.

I've used www.hideipvpn.com for the past 3+ years, never had an issue with them, fantastic service and great speeds. nothing logged.

VPN & Smart DNS, works with iplayer, sky and many other services both UK and US.

If you are a company based in the USA you can and will be forced to turn over whatever logs you have whilst having to keep quiet about it too.

HideMyAss, that's plenty of reasons to not ever trust an American tech website with your privacy.

AirVPN is what I use and it's by far the best I've tried.

Private Internet Access claim they don't have anything about their users to turn over to legal authorities anyway!

I am happy with it, it's fast and only £ 26.50 a year.

I don't think you realise, they have a presence in the USA so they are at the mercy of the federal government, HideMyAss said they didn't log any user data, much as PIA does, but a fat load of good that did for Cody Kretsinger, they got a court order against the VPN to monitor and release the IP addresses that were accessed during the Sony pictures hack.

The same no reason why the NSA would build a massive data center to collect huge amounts of data on millions of US citizens that have done nothing to break the law?

It's called a slippery slope for a reason.
 
I use IPVanish.

Seems to work pretty well with decent speeds and pings.

Also IPVanish has a no-log policy.

I think all VPN's will slow down your speed a bit though but I'm on VM 162mb so don't mind losing a bit.
 
For the VPN's mentioned here there's not a lot in any of those prices. So what's the service like for each, has anyone used more than one?

I'm quite tempted by the 3 day trial on AirVPN :)

I like Private Internet Access for £ 26.50 a year, if your not overly paranoid it should be fine and is one of the cheapest. By the way hidemyass which were mentioned here before are based in the UK not the USA.
 
The only issue I had with Private Internet Access is that if you try and connect to a server too quickly after loading Windows then it either can't load any sites or it's slow.

So I leave it 2-3 minutes after booting before attempting a connection and don't set it to connect automatically after loading the PIA app. It still loads at windows start but just sits in the system try until I manually attempt a connection.

I use http://proof.ovh.net to check the speed and http://www.canyouseeme.org/ or http://www.speedtest.net/
to check I have a PIA IP address.
 
With the AirVPN app on windows if you shut the pc down without first exiting the VPN and allowing the client to close then your network adaptor holds on to the VPN DNS.

Easy enough to remedy once you know how but a right bugger the first time it happens and you haven't a clue what's going on.

This is what I like about the way Air go about things,they're like a dedicated bunch of VPN nerds and you can learn some stuff there and have options about how you set things up,as far as I can tell about most other providers you get what you are given and that's it.

I was looking for a VPN to begin with as I wanted to watch I Claudius on the BBCiplayer and that wasn't available in the UK at that time,as soon as I logged in from Germany though,hey presto there it was.
