I ordered some items from the states in October and after a few months of emails/calls to the vendor and Parcel Force, Parcel Force have finally admitted that they have lost the package.

The vendor states that it is not their responsibility once it crosses the border, and Parcel Force are saying I need to claim from the vendor. I tried explaining to the vendor that they would need to claim from their postal insurance but they were not having any of it.

I'm now thinking I need to do a credit card chargeback, but is that the right/best action?

Sounds like your 240v Lovemaster Pro 5000 blow up latex doll with 6 speed pulsating ***, elasticised anus with non-drip semen collection tray, together with optional built in realistic orgasm scream surround sound system has gone missing?

Gutted!

This is why when I buy this sort of thing, I go to the friendly local sex shop. You may pay a bit more but it's worth it if there is any hassle.

I would certainly threaten them with the chargeback. At the end of the day, the contract of the sale was between you and the vendor, not you and the delivery company, otherwise you'd be able to claim directly from the delivery company. If they don't play ball then get the credit card company involved.

I'm not sure if there is a cut of time that you can do chargebacks, and in your case the time is certainly being dragged out.

What was the cost of said item? Chargeback for under £100, and section 75 for over £100.

The cost was about £270.

Until it is delivered to your door it is the sellers responsibility. If it does not make it to your door, its their problem not yours. They should refund or send a replacement and follow up with the courier themselves. The courier is contracted by the seller, not by you.

Ask for a refund or replacement and if they refuse then go through your credit card company.
