Spec me a 144hz gaming rig

Hi all,

I am looking to build my own 144z gaming rig, & I need the monitor to go along with it.

Priority: Gaming @ 144hz on highest settings possible, games such as league of legends, WoW, Battlefield, Counter Strike.

Budget: £1,500, (needs to include a decent 144z monitor)

Already have: Case, Motherboard, SSD & HDD, Mouse, Windows 8.1.

Case: Cooler master HAF-XB

Will 1x 980 be able to run most games @ 144fps?

Depends on the game.

BF4 at 1080P is more like 90fps.

But Gsync eliminates tearing and stutter when the fps go low.

Another option is maybe two 970s now instead of one 980 (with the option to add another later)

Just an FYI, WoW is designed for a target of 60 FPS, going over this can cause visual anomalies (I.E fog animations moving too fast, wierd **** with spells, etc).

This price allows using 2xGTX970 in SLI which is better in 144Hz gaming than single 980.

That is what I think might be best also.

Spend all the £1500 now for a pair of those cards and ignore the GTX980 single option.
