Did anyone here swap out a 290 for 970?

What volts? As in what volts is fed to my house? Its a 230v grid, and its a video of me recording my clocks, Metro LL benchmark and the wattage meter which shows around 550~ at 1272/1400 +200mV on GPU and 4.8 on my 4820k at 1.35v

On the chips.
If almighty was using more V on his cpu that would make up the extra, I was only using 230mv on card and 1.4 on 4790k.

Thanks Rangerjr1

540 Watts @ 1270Mhz (35% Over reference overclock)

Almighty you said 1250Mhz, Rangerjr1 is running 1272Mhz

Different CPU's and other little details, very argumentative aren't you

That video easily backs up what I say, you on the other hand where's this low power draw you speak of?

Not really, and you never said anything about any overclocks. all you said was

I had my whole rig pulling over 600w with my single 290.

Next time qualify it as what it was, huge overclocks on the GPU and CPU.

just saying your rig pulls over 600 Watts without context is misleading.

To be fair for me there are multiple reasons for moving between cards.

The main one is down to compatibility with Linux, don't get me wrong, AMD have made great inroads wrt performance in Linux, with the omega drivers doing well from what l have understood on the Linux channels that l follow.

Down the road l can easily swap the R9 290X back in for giggles, the choice is there for me to do so.

Still a massive fan of AMD cards, but l like diversity, even if my wife does not like my cards :)

And also will give me an excuse to make another rig sometime down the road.

(Just don't tell my wife)
