Just bought a 6 Series.

I'm not sure what's included as standard on these

Always nice to do some homework on what you are actually buying before parting with 5 figure sums for it, eh :D

Joking aside though it sounds nice - the facelifts are nice cars and the 3 litre engine is excellent.

Great cars, and very cheap second hand. Should have gone for the 650i though.. It wouldn't cost much more to run but is significantly better to drive.

Disagree, the 630i is a particularly frugal car for what it is. There are also numerous jobs that are more complex and time consuming and thus more expensive on the V8.

He made a decent choice.

Thanks for all the feedback, granted the V8 would be great but I'm doing 10k-12k/year at the moment so it's nice to have something a bit more reasonable on fuel and servicing.

Unfortunately won't be able to get any proper pics until the weekend due to the weather and finishing work late but I did manage to get these 2 from the dealer I bought the car from before they took the Ad down.

Few questions -

1) How do I reset the trip computer for the MPG? If I go into the main iDrive centre section it shows the average but this seems to be an overall figure and I'm not sure how to reset it.
2) The interior trim is walnut, it goes quite nicely with the cream leather but I can't help feeling it would be better black/carbon fibre/silver (probably black). How easy is this to change out?

You have two trip computers. The onboard computer and the journey computer.

The Onboard Computer is the one accessible through the instrument panel. Reset this by holding down the button on the end of the left hand stalk.

The Journey Computer is an additional computer which records journey time etc as well as the MPG for that particular trip. Reset this through iDrive.

Cheers Fox, I'll take a look at this tomorrow. What's your opinion on the price? Would you say the manual box makes it more or less desirable from a sales perspective? With there not being many for sale obviously it makes it more rare but the fact that more Auto's were speced from new also says they are more desirable.

Price seems pretty decent - I suspect the autobox is the more popular option which has contributed to the decent price. They are not really sports cars, they are GT's, and most people want these with an automatic box.

Yeah that was my thinking too, I do quite like the manual box though personally.

Nothing but rain all week but a clear and sunny weekend to look forward to!

Any interior pictures?

Great looking car, every time I see one I do think I maybe should have got the 650i over my 335i.

Still wanting to scratch the v8 itch

Hoping its clear the weekend, I'll take a drive up Brecon and get some proper pics then. None at the moment, I'll get some up asap. It's in superb condition :)
