I state of alert is somewhat different, nothing changes with re to the public really.

If they started saying you can't use planes, trains as transport as the risk is high then I would agree.

People might argue the stricter security checks at aiport is evidence, but I have never really noticed a big change. I still get to go on holiday, so again, nothing has changed really. Maybe an extra 2 mins at secuity.

Northern Ireland troubles all but forgotten eh? Happened a few years ago so doesn't count? :p

IRA, UVF just two of dozens of groups, may not have been pushing religion but that was at the base of it all.
