Hi guys, am after a set of gaming headphones to enjoy alien isolation! (And others)
I would like a good surround sound experience but am unsure wether a virtual surround or actual surround set will be best? Or maybe a good quality stereo set?

I have an old creative audio sound card in my pc which powers my 5.1 creative speakers fine. Would this help power a set of headphones?

Sorry for the noobness, any advice or recommendations from personal experience would be great.

My budget is up to £150

Thanks :)

Thanks for the link, some interesting info in there.

Would like a few people's opinions on more gaming/surround orientated headphones too before I make a decision as this will be the primary use.

I'm also looking for a new headset but i'm only interested in a wireless set.

Seen so many out there but all the reviews say they aren't great.

Corsair Vengeance 2100
Steelseries H
Astro A50
Logitec G930

Reviews everywhere i have read seems to point out the G930 has a million and one issues, the rest seems to be DoA or a speaker blowing after a few hours of use.

Sorry to barge into your thread but if anyone has a recommendation please let me know.

Thanks.

No problem at all, it's all related and saves an extra thread!

I'm the opposite, I'm after a wired set as they will only be used for PC gaming use.

Have been reading and have heard very good things about Kingston hyperX clouds, apparently very good sound for the price. Would go for these but they are just standard stereo and I'd like a surround set really.

Anyone had any experience of surround headphones vs a standard stereo set?
Are they much better for gaming?

Thanks

Just seen there's a set of cloud 2s coming out in feb, USB and 7.1 surround. Could be worth a wait?

I have a set of the HyperX Clouds right now and they're absolutely lovely!

At CES they showed off the new hyperX clouds 2 which comes with a usb soundcard and apparently its pretty good. Obviously it has other various upgrades from the current ones.
