Hot Dogs

I got some Bratwurst from Aldi and I didn't like them. They are ridiculously salty, and this is coming from someone who loves salty food.

Maybe you're supposed to boil them first?

I do. Well, just under simmering temp or they can split. In beer with onions and spices. Then fry or bbq to colour.
Really nice with sauerkraut and mild mustard

I do like the m and s posh dogs but they are more of a hot dog flavoured sausage

Hot dogs are one of my guilty pleasures, personally I'm a big fan of the 'regular' size hot dogs in the proper hot dog buns (with raw and cooked onion and a line of tomato sauce and american mustard :p) it's all about the ratios being right.
The issue I have found is that any of the better quality hot dogs seem to vary either the size, thickness or the texture, with a lot being more like sausages than hot dogs :(

Costco sell beef hotdogs.

Some butchers may stock a whole range like bratwurst, frankfurter, bockwurst etc. worth having a look around.

Whats the difference between these?

Just looked online on Tesco and they sell frankfurter style hotdogs, which the ingredients list mechanically separated chicken . Are you all sure these Lidl ones aren't the same?

I wouldnt mind getting some proper hotdogs. The Tesco ye olde oak or princess ones are disgusting.
