I am looking into building a dedicated streaming PC that can handle 720p 60fps encoding at the cheapest price possible.

I will need everything but the OS, keyboard, monitor and mouse and was looking into a micro ATX build with a thin profile case maybe something like the Aerocool Qs-102 Micro-ATX could you guys work your magic and see what you can come up with? under £300 would be nice but can push to £400 if needed.

Hey Idleman, my PC can handle it (in sig) but with some games you get a performance loss so looking for a dedicated solution to record / stream. I have a 2600k with a ATX mobo and ram laying around but I cant find a case slim enough so was looking at something like the AMD Piledriver 4300

EDIT** I use OBS and stream at 3500 Bitrate

not sure about the 60fps, might have to ask in the dedicated thread but what about the Rasppi?

Plays 1080p back fine for me as long as the network connection is strong :) whole bundle is about £50-60 and is about the size of a phone.

Hey AHarvey, that wouldn't work as it would be encoding video then uploading to twitch while recording to the local drive, I would need a quad core CPU.

Do you guys think this would be a good build for this?
AMD Piledriver FX-4 Quad Core 4300 3.80ghz
Asus M5A78L-M
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Aerocool Qs-102
(I have 16gb of ddr3 I could use)

£185.96

I think I would pay a little extra and get the FX 6300. Although you would be better of in your pocket and in terms of performance if you use the 2600k.

I want to use my 2600k but it's just the lack of space for another tower and I don't think a HTPC case would fit anywhere looking tidy, I could try and fit it under my desk (under main pc) but would be a huge pain in the ass getting it out to clean it every month with the dust. I added a image of my setup so you can get an idea of the room that im working with. The plan was to put PC next to the table for easy access or behind main rig (thin profile) if you guys have ideas im all ears.

Do you have a spare half-decent laptop that you could use? With preferably a decent quad core CPU

No room on that top shelf or can you turn your case round.

Failing that, put a Wanted thread up in the MM for a Z68/77 mATX board and get that Aerocool case.

I have a late 2013 13" macbook pro with 8gb ram etc (used for work) and I have my media centre but that's running a Intel I3-2120 cpu with 8gb also and is often streaming plex to cromcasts around the house and sister and grandads TV and don't think that will streaming to twitch as well.

You could have picked up a cheap sound card for a tenner.

Ah well, at least you are sorted. :D
