****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

Played some of the Monster Hunter 4 demo tonight and quite enjoyed it. The game works well with the c-stick/nub and it seems like they made some nice improvements and additions over MH3 in terms of game mechanics. I got MH3U free with the Mario Kart 8 promotion, but never committed to playing as it seemed quite demanding on my free time.

I think it only for Fire Emblem characters such as Ike and Marth since its the same developers :)

Ahh :)

Just played some OOT on my XL and then went to the 3DS. I'm not sure again. The XL feels so much more immersive as you're looking into a deep scene but on the 3DS I'm very conscious I can see the screen and around it too. The XL when I hold it close doesn't allow me to see much else

I think it boils down to whether you can live with the increased physical size of the XL. I couldn't go back to the smaller size if you made me. The New 3DS has around 25% larger screen size than the original 3DS, so it does close the gap by a margin. Both models are slightly larger and heavier than their predecessors.

We should be thankful for the options as weirdly, America has been denied the N3DS and has only been given the N3DSXL. There are some pretty annoyed people over the pond about this. It does make a change for us guys over here to have the more options! :D

I've preordered the n3DS with the special ed MM..... Just been told that 3DSs don't come with a charger but surely that's not true?

It's true, insane but true. Their mentality is that we all surely must already have a DSi, 3DS or 3DS XL in the household which will work with it. I don't know exactly how they get away with it.

Argos and £6.99 will get you an official one.

What so if you done buy a charger, then once the battery is gone that's it?

Yeah, you'll need a charger if you haven't got one included in a bundle that you're buying.

The retail boxes of the New 3DS do not contain any means of charging it. This wouldn't be much of a problem if the 3DS used a mini or micro USB socket, but with the proprietary socket that it uses.. ha.. they do it to spite you. ;)

It's worth picking up a couple of cheap 3DS to USB charging cables off the the bay. The N3DS/XL will charge fine using these. They are great for holiday use, allows you to get an emergency charging battery pack and charge whilst on a long plane ride.

The New 3DS XL is actually lighter though. I decided not to get one, logically I don't need one as I don't want to play Xenothing and I doubt any future Mario or Zelda games will be new one only.
Obviously Im keeping the MM editions I got, coz I'm a dirty profiteer.
