I bought **B Grade** Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 WindForce 3X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express G (GX-143-GI) back in November. Other than a bit of coil whine once or twice it has been great until this week.
Now a few times after half hour of having my computer on the display goes strange. Its like 2 images are being displayed over the top of each other offset by about an inch.
The computer doesnt crash or anything, stays usable apart from it looks a mess. Its only happened when Ive been on the desktop or browsing the internet. Restarting fixes it straight away.
Any ideas? And what should I do?

Thanks

If its faulty check the warranty with Gigabyte on their website you probably find its covered even though its b grade. All gigabyte will be bothered about is proof of purchase/date.

Yeah this. Gigabyte's RMA are based in Milton Keynes IIRC so it's utterly painless :)

on the gigabyte support page it just says;

Warranty Graphics Card: Please contact the location where the original order was placed.
Warranty Terms Graphics Card: Please contact the location where the original order was placed.
Service Center Graphics Card:
Please mail to [email protected](For UK and Ireland residents only) for further information

Guess I'll just fire off an email to them and see what they say

Just be aware that despite b grade items saying 90 days warranty, this is IN ADDITION to your statutory rights, meaning within 6 months the retailer has to prove the fault is your doing, and even up to 6 years you can still make a claim for a fault but the retailer may ask you to get an independent report confirming the fault is due to a manufacturing problem

The example on the govuk site is that "a £20 kettle might only be expected to last 3 years"... so regardless of it being b grade, you would rightly expect it to last longer than 90 days

There's also EU legislation that says you get a minimum 2 year guarantee on all goods sold by a retailer, even second hand
