** GREAT PRE-ORDER ONLY DEAL: OcUK NVIDIA GTX 970 REFERENCE CARD!! **

The main issue being the card seems to only use 3.5gb max in most games and in the games where it goes over that (Shadows of Mordor) it causes serious performances issues, however this doesn't happen at all on the 980 which is able to use the full 4gb without any problems as has been tested by people on various forums including this one I think.

It's not specific to this card and it seems to be all 970s.

Ah OK, I found the issue described in the thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18624935. According to http://techreport.com/blog/27143/here-another-reason-the-geforce-gtx-970-is-slower-than-the-gtx-980, it's a hardware limitation, not a driver problem. Even so, I'm still considering a 970 as my monitors are 1920x1200, and a 980 is £150-200 extra. I'll also look into getting an R290 or just waiting for the next generation of cards. Thanks for the heads-up.

I just ordered an OcUK GTX 970 Reference Card. I'd been undecided whether to get the reference card or the OcUK Infinity Black Edition for my new build. Now that the price difference is only £10, I decided to go for the 3 year warranty and the no-compromise design of Gibbo's reference card. I'm very happy to wait a few weeks if it means saving £36.

Cheers guys, was pricing up a watercooling loop, but after looking at the price of blocks, plus all the other stuff, and the faff of needing to set it all up, I'm just going to go air SLI.

So 2 in a TJ08 should be ok?

I know I need to remove the small cover on the top one to allow the bottom to breathe better, I'm just hoping I can keep the fan curve super low when idling, don't really care about the noise when gaming, I used to have a 290X :p

It'll be fine :)

I'm thinking of returning my Infinity Black for this. Anyone who bought one had any issues noise wise? It's going in a quiet mITX rig so silence is important!
