Guys,
My pump is starting to make some strange noises and I think its probably time to replace it.

I have only ever owned this pump which is a :-

Laing DDC (rev3.2) 12V 18w Pump with a Petras tech DDCT-01s Delrin top

I think it must be about 8 year old maybe a little less.

What are the best ones at the moment? The quieter the better.

I only have one loop which cools the cpu and gpu. I have a EK X3 250 reservoir and a XSPC RX360 radiator using 7/16" ID 5/8" OD XSPC tubing

cheers

Just got myself a D5 X Top from B grade for £40!
Arrived today, and apart from a couple of fingerprint smudges on the top and some rusting on the screws, everything looks as new!

D5 Vario is probably your best bet if you want silent operation, If you're on a budget the EK DCP 4.0 is a good contender.

wow almost 8 years? glad to hear that, as I have 2 DDC pumps :)
I would get the same pump if you are happy with yours.

I'm running my pumps at 10.5V and with a heatsink, I hope they last long :)

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will take a look at your suggestions and let you know what I go for.

Been running a DDC 18W for about 7½ years with no issues. However, I've mainly been running it at 7V to make it quiet. That was just a 12V to 5V molex connection (swap ground for 5V or buy pre-made). Currently running it from an Aquero and it's pushing 81l/h running at 2640rpm at 8V and have also added the EK heatsink with noise isolating mounts (although they could do with being softer). It'll do nearly 150l/h @ 4500rpm when on 12V. The newer versions let you control speed via PWM so you can power it from a molex and control speed from a motherboard header. Just adjust the speed to balance noise and performance. You can even ramp it up with temperature if your motherboard (or controller) does that sort of thing.

I am seeing a number of D5's from different manufacturers such as EK and XSPC. Could you provide a linki please?

They're all the same, apart from vario or pwm, so pick the cheapest. I bought an EK so it would match my other, but when it arrived it didn't even have an EK label on it. At least the lead colours match. :)

D5 or a new DDC, if money is a bit tight the EK/phobia all would be fit for purpose, the D5 vario allows you direct control but they can all be controlled if you have a fan controller with a high enough ampage. Have used them all and for a simple loop they would all be fine the D5 and DDC are over priced in my opinion.
