Galax/Kfa2 980 HOF coil whine :(

just give it a quick test take less than a few mins... afterburner set fan speed to whatever and see if it runs constant at that speed both the cards i got kept dropping off!
i guess like so many not bothered if there's a problem...as long as i don't hear it or know about it!....
hopefully there all good for you though!
How would you know if you have a problem with your fans unless you have altered them ? or you are getting overheating issues and the fans are not altering accordingly.Obviously ive not checked because i dont have any issues !

Yes if you contact them they can refund the postage if you email them the receipt I asked them this the first time I sent back my 980

i first noticed when i tried a little oc on the card, i raised the fans to 80% and noticed the sound drop off.... i wondered what was going on...! so i tried different fan speeds with out the overclocks... and same issue! every time!
also noticed they could run fine for a minute or two then gone.... sometimes it would happen straight, weird behaviour really! on auto they where fine.
if i had got two cards/sli... i wouldn't have noticed a thing as i wouldn't have bother to oc them!
glad that someone got some good cards..i'm jealous

They should offer a Test and 2 day shipping .. so you get a card tested and working .. less problems there end on returns and the customer is happy

What ever they are doing at the moment works I will keep sending back my 980 HOF in till I have one that does not coil whine at stock clocks but till that happens

Sad to here my friend what's the plan now?
I am going for a third card now just waiting for it to be picked up now
It'll be interesting to see how you get on with that card, as it seems to have improved coils to reduce coil whine, just like the Galax has.
