Possible trip to Amsterdam in Feb - Hotel recommendations

Amsterdam 16th - 22nd Feb

Might be going to Amsterdam for one week in Feb.

Do you guys have any hotel recommendations?

Obviously cheaper the better, but a good compromise between quality and cheapness.

Flights look around £150 return, but then hotel looks like around £400-£600 which looks like this could end up being a 1k holiday!

I thought this was going to be cheap!

Hotel83 is good,

Nice size rooms, clean onsuite bathroom.

In the heart of the action.

I have stayed at many places from cheap such as the Hotel Vijaya (really narrow rooms with onsuite bathrooms that make you more dirty than when you entered), to more expensive....Hotel Amstelzicht.


Hotel83 is a great in between.

My freind whom Im meeting out there has advised me to try and be near Rembrandt Square.

It is in the RLD (opposite the peep show) but never had any problems sleeping at night (rooms were at the rear of the hotel).

Amstelzicht was at Rembrandt square on the Amstel canal side.

Stayed in the Volkshotel on Thursday, great venue! Cool cocktail bar downstairs as well but usually quite smoky. Didn't seem that far from the centre; we were driving around though.

This looks like an intersting hotel. Wonder if it's in walking distance of Rembrandt Square?

If you're going with friends or even by yourself you should consider a hostel. Get to meet new people and I found it really fun when I did it. If it's a romantic get away then probably go for a hotel yeah.

I like the NH City centre on Spuistraat, a functional business style hotel which used to be reasonably priced. Haven't stayed there for years though.

The NH Carlton is pretty good and by Rembrant Plein. It's a little better than the NH Centraal for around the same money.

i stayed in the marxstraat (spelling) area, was right next to high times cup place haha. lovely place, hope to go again this year.

Last thing you want is a bit of a hike back to the hotel after a heavy day in the center.
