Help Me Decide 750D vs 780T

I've ordered a 750D with my watercooling loop of which I am going to mount a 280 rad and a 360 rad for CPU and GPU watercooling. However I've since been looking at the 780T and I love the looks, the 750D is nice but its a bit old fashioned with it's boxy square looks, considering I'm upgrading from the 550D I fancy a change.

Since I'm still waiting for my watercooling components to come in stock I'm seriously considering changing my order of the 750D to the 780T can anyone convince me or put me off the 780T? Apart from its obvious plastic construction rather than the 750D aluminium look are there any downsides to the 780T?

I've watched a few youtube vids but I want some user opinions on real builds (especially water cooling) on the space inside the 780T:
* Is it smaller or bigger than the 750D?
* What's the build quality like?
* Is air flow a problem?
* Is it a quiet case? The 750D strikes me as a noisier case as it is rather open with air holes everywhere.
* Can you mount either a 360 or 280 rad in the roof without blocking the drive bays? I'm plaining on using both of the bays for blu-ray drives.

Thanks for any info.

I can give you some info, how helpful it will be I'm not sure as I don't water cool mine (apart from my Corsair H105). And I've never owned a 750d so not sure on how size is in comparison.

But, the case is wonderful, easily the best I've owned, and this isn't bias views just because I own one.

Build quality is really really lovely. No sharp edges, tatty finishes, or panels that don't quite align right. Grommets are in good positions, plenty of room around the back of motherboard tray for cable management. The case has a lot of space inside, and I have 2 gpus.

Air Flow is most definitely not an issue. The 2 front fans push good air through, even behind the dust filter. Also, with the ability to put a fan in the bottom of the case, you can potentially move a nice bit around the internally and out through the rear and roof.

My case is fairly quiet, not silent by any means, as you would expect with 8 fans installed. The case doesn't crack though, perspex doest flex and make noise like the old 600t did. The fan controller on the top front fascia is a lovely easy and quick way to control noise levels and rad cooling out of the box.

I have a Corsair H105 in the roof of my case, with 4 high performance Corsair SP120s in push/pull, all running off the fan controller and also have a DVD drive in the bottom bay. The rad is 270mm and it finishes about 50mm short of the back of the DVD drive, I have a ton of space with it this way. If you want the top bay populated, it looks like you would be able to put a 360mm rad in as long as it's no thicker than 38mm by the looks of it, but it looks a little tight. If you wanted a fan underneath the rad pushing air out the top, then that wouldn't be possible. You'd have to have 2 fans pushing and 3 on top pulling if you choose to have it that way. The 3rd fan underneath the rad, the one closest to the front of the case, would foul on the drive in the top bay.

A few pics if it helps at all.

These might give you an idea as well of the room around the bays

Awesome stuff thanks for taking the time to reply, along with that and some more research I'm definitely going to get one, it's such a sexy case and it has really put me off the 750D now.

The 360mm rad I'm going to put in is the XSPC EX360 which is 35mm thick so it sounds like it will go in the top without blocking the drive bays but like you say it wont be able to put push/pull fans on it, so I may put that in the front and the 280mm (XSPC EX280) in the roof.

One question for you I've heard/seen that it has a 200mm fan mount in the front, has it got mounts for 2 200mm fans or is it just the one? Thinking of putting some BitFenix Spectre PRO in the front to increase airflow into the case and to better cool whichever rad I decide to put in the front location.

there is no way of putting any 200mm fans in the front. There are only mounts for x3 120mm or x2 140mm which comes included. They do shift a fair bit of air though.

I took Tonys recommendation for the 780T also in white, easily the best case I have ever worked on.

Much airflow, many cable mounting points, the fan controller is spot on and in general it is just very easy to work with!

Are you sure? The image below is taken from this review, if you look carefully you can see the punched numbers for the different sized fans, i.e. 120 and 140 but in the top left it has 200 which I can only guess is for 200mm fans. Could you open your front up and have a closer look at all the holes?

i recently switched from a storm trooper to a 780t, it is very spacious from the inside

sorry for the bad quality pictures, but i have a rampage extreme with sli in their and you can see how spacious it is. you can also have 3 120mm intake fans if your willing to mount them on the inside but two 140mm looks better, im thinking if you can mount a 200mm fan it will be on the inner side, like this
