Thoughts on Samsung 27D850D monitor?

Well I got the default RMA notice, I hope they are not going to waste my time and theirs checking for the fault they failed to find last time. I just want my money back so that I can buy a monitor that works.

Yeah heres hoping buddy!

I set up the RMA to return my monitor for a refund, and bought another today. Guy on the phone said they will only take all 25% off the value if it isn't sent in the original box and without any of the original cables etc, so I am hoping that its not going to be much. Also hoping the next one has no issues as well......

I've started my PC buying now. Just ordered this monitor. I'm sure they will have made more good panels than bad. The bad panels always tend to be the ones which get more vocal.

I'll only get to use with my PS4 for now so lets hope this doesn't turn into a RMA.

Very true! Especially with a respectable make such as Samsung

Let me know how you find it. I thought it was awesome with my PS4, played last of us, infamous and outlast, all looked incredible!

Yeah, got my money back. Got the full amount, as should you if you sent everything back. Given the monitor is faulty and you have not had it long, assuming you have not damaged anything there is no reason for them to deduct

Ive got the Samsung 27" LED S27D850D PLS, and coming from a 144hz TN panel i was stunned by the sharp, vibrant picture. Definitely worth the money i spent on it, you might have to calibrate it yourself i think, because mine wasnt pre calibrated.

This monitor is great for basically all games other than competitive and really fast paced shooters, where i would use my ASUS 144HZ screen.

Yeah is an amazing picture. I followed this review to calibrate it a bit http://wecravegamestoo.com/forums/m...view-2560x1440-semi-glossy-8-bit-frc-pls.html

I played some BF4 and CS GO, was fine for me, but anything compared to a 144hz would be slow I imagine

After playing CSGO for 1100-1400 hours on a 144Hz screen i cant see myself performing well with this 1440p, but hey. Skyrim, Dark souls, Borderlands 2 etc etc all look stupidly good compared to my ASUS :)

Ahhh nice one. Yeah hope so! Would mean I haven't made a loss after all this! haha

Ahhh ok! I've never played on a 144hz tbh, but I don't play games as much as I used to, tends to be every now and then, personally would go for quality over performance, aslong as it isnt very noticeable!.....
