I've taken out people with zero bounty at an anarchy nav beacon and can confirm quite a lot of the time 2 ships will jump in a few minutes later and immediately start attacking, no scans.

I've had this too, it seems to occur if you kill someone belonging to a certain faction, quite often a pair of elite/dangerous sidewinders will turn up and start attacking you

Yep, almost always sidewinders! They appear at particularly inopportune moments as well... suddenly turning mundane bounty hunting in to annoying fly swatting.

You might also notice that quite often they're escorting a type-6, if you go anywhere near them or scan them they get all bent out of shape and start attacking you, it's quite funny

OMFG ARGH.

Someone call claims direct ;_;

Just lost my Anaconda in the most ridiculous way lmao, i'm still laughing...

Was in the combat zone at Neto, was there for a good few hours, made abour 400k and had to keep going back to restock, then RIP.

So glad I had the insurance, otherwise it would have been serious tears, should be able to make it back in a few hours..... enough elite for tonight..... :mad::D

I shouldn't...shouldn't laugh, but, but...

HA HA-HA-HA-HA-HA

HA

I'm very sorry.

Not much. They need to add the space equivalent of the AA to the game. Some ship that comes and saves you if your broken down, for a fee! :p

Apparently they did have distress beacons in the game, but they were abused and therefore removed.

Hopefully they'll figure out a way to re-implement them.

In beta you could make distress calls and someone would show up and sell you fuel. They said that it was just a place holder though until fuel scoops were in game.

The main reason it's funny is because each and every one of us knows that exactly the same thing, or worse (!) awaits us all around the next corner... :D

rofl

I had a pretty decent safety blanket anyway, and it shouldn't take long to trade it back (a hour or two probably if I find a good route)

The way I see it - I went to a combat zone looking to shaft stuff, which I did with great success until that escapade... so I'm fine with dying, even if I was pretty helpless in doing anything to stop it, so long as it wasn't a bug I'm fine with it.

I do feel sorry for people who are trading on the edge, who have a mishap and lose millions or even everything - I've seen many posts on the frontier forums of people who've lost everything and quit... but it's a harsh game I guess.

Lol, nice video, there are some who would have walked away from ED after that, never to return.

At least you laughed it off. :D

I am so bored of trading, I thought I would take a side step back to some missions (to still try and get my SOL permit) and I took on one of those 150K kill contracts. I armed myself up with an ASP and kitted it out with some real good stuff (around 20 mill's worth) went for it and ended up getting proper owned still :(

What does it take to take them down?

If I had an ASP and I just wanted to complete the contract in the easiest means possible;

Top shield,

Shield cells,

Chaff launcher/point defense

6x dumb-fire missile racks.. (2 medium, 4 small)

Get close and unload that lot and there won't be much left... Someone on youtube was showing the quickest way to kill an Anaconda, and I believe this was the best, but most expensive.. (they were killing the thing in 8 seconds)

EDIT; see below vid :)

Are all those big-money bounty hunting missions for Anacondas then? I quite like the idea of having to chase a particular pirate down through a few systems and so on, but if it's always going to be one in an Anaconda I think I'm a good ways from being able to do it.
