This PSU has been Flawless and I don't really wanna have to sell it...But I'm moving to X99 and 5930k and want to get another GTX970 in March for the new IPS gysnc monitors coming...

I know 750w is the recommendation but I only have 1 ssd in the system...

Thoughts?

Will my Eneramx Liberty 620w be enough? (look into your crystal balls people )

:)

How old is the PSU? The older it is the less efficient it will be and more likely to be put under strain by high load.

I'd suggest if you're making the leap to a 5930 + X99 that you should put aside some money for a higher wattage gold/plat psu, why even risk it?

My rig below is running off a 1300W Evga admittedly overkill as it was bought when I had 290X Tri-fire but buying a higher wattage PSU should set you up for a very long time.

Ah Enermax, the only PSU I've had that has blown up on me :).

I bought the EVGA SuperNova G2 850W Gold for my GTX970 SLI. Can be found for £95. 850W, Gold rated, 10 year warranty, SuperFlower internals, excellent reviews, under £100. Not much can beat it I don't think.

..you don't even need an 850w.

My 650w Superflower is powering my PC with ample room to spare.

..even at full load it pulls less than 500w.

I just don't understand potentially spending that much money and risking it by not spending extra to give you headroom.

My system has peaked over 800w. Haswell-e is a massive power hog as soon as you put voltage through it to overclock. In addition overclocked 970's with increased power limit can push 150W+ per card.

I miss my Enermax Liberty 620w, I was browsing OcUK one day with it when there was a massive bang :o

It fortunately didn't fry my components, but the inside of the PSU was toast, I opened it up and found massive scorch marks where something had gone into meltdown!

It's enough but cap wear and so on will be quite prevalent here.

I would change it. Overclocked hex core CPUs eat a ton of power on their own.
