I see you can run duel channel on a triple channel board, but i see it gives options for dual OR triple with 4 sticks. would i be best using dual or triple when running 4 stocks.

dual channel would run slot 1, 2, 3, 4
triple channle would run slot 1, 2, 3, 5

How does it run triple channel with 4 sticks?

Which revision board are you running? (I've also got the UD5). I'll have to check the manual, not heard of this before

Unless I'm wrong it will run 3 of the sticks in triple channel mode and the 4th stick in single channel mode.

I would be more tempted to go dual channel in this case but might be best to test around to see if it makes any difference.

that would be right.

on a second note, my CPU and board are well known for not running ram over 1333/1600 so if i drop my 2666mhx to 1333 how much would i been looking at dropping the timings?

THIS ram

It has a JEDEC profile for 1333mhz with 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.5v so I would just pick that profile and it will do the rest for you.
