Big day tomorrow.

Good luck and congrats.
Oh and get in the fish thread.

Consider it replied too..:)

Thanks for all the messages guys. We have decided to pop to the pub for a few hours. The house is clean things packed etc. Just going to walk the pooch and have shower.. then out we go.

One thing - Any tips on introducing a dog to a new baby? I have a 6 year old yellow Lab who is very placid and loving, also very inquisitive and likes to stick his nose into whatever we are doing. He used to be a bit wary of children as he was kicked by some when he was a puppy since then up till summer last year he would always goes on the defensive, growl and not make a move as such but certainly letting his presence be known. However, now after last summer he is 100% better round children, he never really bothered about prams or pushchairs out on his walks and we have had ours downstairs for a few months along with lots of other things for Harrison, like rocker and bath etc so he knows they are for someone/thing else. He wont even get his favourite toy when I put it in the baby rocker. He just sits there looking at it waiting for me to get it for him.

To be honest I am looking forward to getting the dog to see what all the fuss is about. Can't wait to see what he acts like. I know not to leave dog and baby alone and that sort of thing.

So any tips?

Friends of ours were advised to put a [used] baby blanket in the dog's basket, so he would get used to the scent, and some sort of pecking order thing. They had no problems.

Also playing noises of crying babies at a lower volume and increasing them is meant to help - as its a noise that some animals do not hear very often.

There are significant downsides to epidural, it should be noted.

Mrs Cheesyboy went without with both of ours; there just never came a point when one seemed to be necessary. That point may come in a 3-day induced labour, however :)

Indeed, Mrs D.P. went without an epidural. Beyond other things they will significantly increase the chances of a C-section and delay labour even if successful.

2nd pint down... Better take it easy just in case he wants out before tomorrow morning... Getting excited now. Missus not so lol. Guess I'll have to post obligatory pics when he's here...

My missus was induced, wasn't a quick process at all! Easily 36 hours +

Enjoy normal life, it will never be the same again, and welcome to a new level of stress :p

Good luck dude. Take my advice though... DO NOT watch the lil man come out or look at the immediate aftermath down there because it will put you off for some time if you know what I'm saying!

Congrats! Your knowledge picked up in life so far will feel useless very soon. :D

My missus went to be induced but our son decided he did not want to come out. Had to have an emergency cesarean in the end. Now that was something I will never ever forget. If it comes to that just don't peek.
