I applaud the *idea* behind the missions. Get tanks playing their roles. Stop HTs camping, make LTs scout without suiciding.
But they need to look at *why* tanks weren't playing their roles. The answer is simple:
Gold ammo and power creep.
Gold ammo stopped meds having to flank. Why bother getting flank shots on the T10 HT when you can load gold and snipe through the front of a E100 turret. It even meant that some LTs could pen HTs from the front as well.
Power creep made camping/sniping essential. Why expose yourself to a flanking manoeuvre when you could find yourself being clipped by a auto-loading TD that never even de-cloaks. I'd be happy to risk one shot if it means getting behind the enemy. But being clipped is no fun at all. Far safer to stay in cover and snipe using gold.
WGs response *should* have been to apologise, admit they got it wrong. Get rid of gold ammo. Get rid of stupid TDs like the wft-e100. Sure 75% of the time they get spotted and killed, but that 1 game in 4 just wrecks the game play.
