Just how nutty are the Green party?

It amuses me greatly that now the greens are being given a fair platform and allowed to participate in the tv debates, the wood worm are being forced out to call them 'crazy' and destabilise their public image. Like any of the other parties are any less insane.

You linked a spectator article itself referencing a telegraph article. Nothing but steam, propaganda and political agenda.

Grow up and pull the other one, it's got bells one it.

Agreed. It's the main reason politics a political parties are so bland. Anyone who dares to think diffrently, is vilified by the partisan press and people belive it.

I have no idea what Green Party policy is, but I'd take everything written about them with a bowl of salt.

Because, on balance, thier policies reflect my views more than any other party, and those slightly more "nutty" policies I can overlook, especially as they'd probably get watered down in parliament anyway.

I bet good money if i said the same thing about UKIP you and others like you wouldn't let that pass, so i wouldn't be giving you the same courtesy.

Caroline Lucas the Green MP was on BBC talking about the No More Page 3 campaign where she wants to ban a nipple from being seen and Andrew Neal said her party supports leagalising brothels and prostitution and sex shows she said yes, but she doesn't agree with that. They are a bit of a joke of a party.

Scraping trident is the most sensible thing ever, don't really see the problem in not spending£20bn on something that won't ever be used.

The greens have more members than ukipshambles and the LIbDems, of course they should be in debates

This list was copied from the torygraph so no wonder it's negative slant

Trident is the ultimate deterrent. If we ever had to use it the world probably wouldn't be worth living in anyway.

I saw that and actually found it quite refreshing. It's quite nice to see someone say that they have their own opinion even if it differs from their party's.

I bet she uttered "Je suis Charlie" a few times over the last month but simultaneously wants to ban Page 3, staggering hypocrisy.

I've yet to hear her discuss any actual environmental or "green" issues at all, the only time I've heard her talk at length she was spouting endless marxist rhetoric which seems to interest her much more. As for the Page 3 nonsense she seems to want to want to support any kind of weird left wing political agenda and her Green agenda seems little more than than a fig leaf.

As to what her party has done to the town here and the roads and traffic in general don't even get me started, Brighton was recently outed as having one of the highest levels of pollution recently hardly surprising with the amount of time you spend sitting in traffic jams due to dumb traffic measures that have reduced everything to 20 mph limits and funneling everything into single lanes and a forest of traffic lights. Parking charges are some of the highest in the country and everywhere except the 'burbs.

Vote for who you want - I don't care - it's your vote.

Because legal assisted dying for someone thats terminally ill and suicide are the same thing right?

Both are suicide, so yes.

And if you think the law will only apply to the terminally ill I suggest you check out Belgium. They were told the same thing.

The Green party have a record of not allowing people to hold their own opinions. They expelled a Green councillor in Brighton in 2012 because she voted against a council motion supporting the governments plans to redefine marriage.

Vote for who you want - I don't care - it's your vote.

I would share that view in the main. However the Green party doesn't seem to. Down here in Brighton the Greens are often closely involved in anti democratic protests. These have involved, quite frankly, borderline fascist, protests against the likes of UKIP simply holding meetings. I have seen these protests and they are ugly and hateful. Those protesting want to deny a voice to those they disagree with.

Does anyone have a link to all these "Policies" on the Greens' official site?

Because that Spector blog is referencing a Telegraph article with no sources... and I can't find them shown anything like the above on the Greens' site...

I start reading those policies and think "this is really" good, then I get to the end of the sentence thinking "jesus, what are they thinking"

Example:

Political parties will be funded by the state, and the electoral system changed. The monarchy will be abolished.

Getting money out of politics would be great as would going to something like a proportional representation system. Getting rid of the monarchy though?
