Sound of Cylons - big Battlestar Galactica spoilers inside

Such an epic show.

Like all great shows, it aims high and takes a little while to find its feet... but when it does it is seminal

wasn't there something wrong with the dvd or blueray?

I''m sure people were complaining about some colour filter or something on one of the series but not all so it was stupid and not how the program was broadcast on tv.
you know like the matrix at the cinema had a different colour filter tone thingy.

I rewatched all bs a few weeks ago made me want an airfix model but I resisted would have looked cool on my desk though

A great show until it went down the spiritual side with Gods etc. and robots thinking there's a silicon heaven where they'd meet millions upon millions of very happy calculators.

Showed the God delusion can apply to all ;)
If he doesn't exist, we invnt him.

I lovd this show, thought it ended well, and not overly deus ex machina.

12 hours including a sleep, and still have sound of cylons on loop in my brain.

So you mean from like the first episode? Religion is a huge part of the show, it's kinda one of the key points...

I never liked this at the time but just started watching it recently - kicking myself for putting it off so long.

Very good stuff, absolutely hooked.

Also I never realised that they use the Gayatri Mantra in the opening theme - but then that makes a lot of sense with the story, cycles and "gods". Seems the creators were drawing a lot from Hinduism.

An amazing tv series I can understand many saying the "religious" nonsense bit but they did it quite well you have to watch the start, appreciate the middle and be amazed by the end not many people could handle this they perhaps wanted more explosions and CGI but then I think that is what the new BSG big screen film will be about.

I listend to some of those tracks and quite beautiful music really must hear others will check youtube out:)

Nice! Had a quick good and found this:

Always wondered what was being sung.

Found this nice version of it too:

Itching to watch the show from the start again. Tried SGU the other day and it pales in comparison.

An almost perfect show. The not-so-great CGI Centurions still kinda bug me, but that's being picky. BSG and The Wire are the 2 best TV shows ever made, IMO, by quite a distance.

The not-so-great CGI Centurions

lol not so great? They were down right pathetic looking to say the least, it was like the budget for them was found down the back of a sofa. Probably would have been easier getting a few of the old suits and using them instead. Anytime i seen those things appearing i just rolled my eyes as to how utterly crap they looked, it was like cgi for beginners. I've seen better cg in adverts on tv.

I really must give this another try. I gave up at the end of season 2 i think. THen watched the last few episodes to see how they wound it up compared to the original.

GF has a box set so no excuse. Just need to find 40h or so ? :P

First time I heard the opening theme I thought it sounded familiar. Then after listening more carefully I realised that it was as I thought - it's hard to pick up because the intonation is so wishy/washy and pronunciation of course completely inaccurate. But anyway I love the artistic interpretation and tbh the meaning of the Mantra perfectly suits the themes being explored in the entire show.

I'm going to watch another couple of episodes tonight. It's one of those series that I'm really going to be sad about finishing the last one. I'm halfway through season 3 atm.

I totally cried at the end. I cried at other bits, too, mind you!
