Thanks OCUK. Got my juicy refund (in full) for the previous card (which seemed to **** so many forum goers here off).

Since I got a full refund and wasn't exploited under the new DSR, I ordered my card from you again. Yay!

So anyway... erm I was thinking, and I've been wondering for a while now, since I changed my power supply from the coolermaster I had, which seemed to lose efficiency (somehow) and installed a SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650watt Gold PSU, I've not ever hooked up the front fans and thermal readout on my Zalman Z9 Case but on my Coolermaster PSU, I just plugged the front connected directly into the PSU because it was modular. However because my SF isn't modular, I have this front case fan power connector and no where to put it.
I've seen various adapters, but I can't see one that looks as if it is going to fit that properly. Doesn't look molexy... what connector is it? roundy-molex? Rolex? Can anyone direct me to the appropriate adapter please?
:|

Now I just hope that my card doesn't cook itself when Summer rolls around lol.

:)

The zalman z9 uses standard molex to power the front fans and controller

The fans should just plug into the small black connectors, and the molex into your powersupply.

No idea what the cable in your pic is,looks like a cable from a modular psu to me

Good grief... must have pulled on a cable in all that mess of wires and picked the wrong one. No idea why it is in there. :\ Thing is though, it's quite substantial and it comes round from the front. I don't ever remember specifically taking that and plugging it in anywhere.

What Z9 are you guys referring to? Mine is the old 2.0 case... :\

I must search in the jungle of wires.

*dons Indiana hat*. I hate non-modular PSUs lol.

The front fan/controller connections will be same between the standard Z9 2.0 and + edition.(I had a z11+ only difference between the normal and + edition was the USB conections, will be the same with the Z9's prob)

Whats probily happened is when you were switching PSU's out you yanked that out the old psu without noticing, other end of that cable is probity buried somewhere connected to the front case Molex :D

Bah damnit. Well that's sort of fortunate. Might as well take a peak now. Gonna need that air flow for when the 290 comes. *house sets on fire*

Installed and works fine. Room is only 20.5c but playing GW2 (which is not particularly demanding), I was getting 64c which isn't too bad. I'll play something more demanding later.

Outer box was fine, the ASUS box covered in all the marketing looked at if where the seal is at the end, someone had had a good pry at it. Card seems to be fine and the inner ASUS box looked okay, so I won't send it back over something so trivial.

Yeah, I left some old PSU leads connected. Checked round the back of it, yoink, plugged in the others straight away so now my front fan, top exhaust fan and thermal readout is working.

Do have a question though... which I thought about 3 years ago when building this PC haha... this:

The reason I didn't take this thing off, was because when I first started to at one corner many eons ago, it left behind a horrible sticky adhesive that would undoubtedly turn it into a rug after a time and just consist of nothing but hair and dust... so I left it on. Doesn't appear to effect temps on my i5-2500K at all. I take it that is on there for a reason? Or am I overlooking something?

Oh another thing...

I still have the e-mail for that first Civ Beyond Earth code. Obviously it wasn't a physical one, so I couldn't technically return it. I haven't redeemed it. What do I do, thief it? Or give it away, or be super honest and delete it? lol
