Be careful when buying personal number plates *UPDATE 28/1/15*

Why do people get these vanity plates, isn't driving a BMW a big enough signal that you are a **** ;)

what about the signal from this monstrosity:

(spotted in Islington one night on the way home a few years ago and yes, if it isn't clear from the picture since it was dark, they have painted it bright pink)

Interesting to get another point of view. I thought that it might impact negatively on them, at first - perhaps they might be perceived as entitled rich girls by some.

My parents bought me a plate as well.
Didn't cost a lot but I do like it and would 100% keep it on every car I ever own.

It also tidies the car instead of a normal number plate

I couldn't think of a more unimaginative and boring present. "Here you go son here's a combination of letters and numbers to replace the existing ones you have".

An insulting waste of money.

I'm clearly being a unremitting thicko, but what is that supposed to spell?

Flippin' eck, what's up with some of you who don't get it?

"Les beau"

Say it out loud.

Really? I saw that instantly but couldn't believe that was the joke that had everyone falling over themselves laughing. Especially not with numbers and weird spaces.

it is B14 RBE

the 14 being an 'A'... there is an 'I' missing but assuming it is supposed to be 'Barbie'

thus the pink colour too

Nope, that says BLARBE.

My brother had DRSATAN as his license plate on his bike when we lived back in the states. I thought that was acceptable.

Talking of PNP's, I was just having a nosey on the DVLA site the other day and saw one I fancied but I checked this morning and it's no longer showing.

Do they sell that fast? it wasn't anything special either...

I didn't think I'd gotten it, then I realised I had but it isn't as funny as everyone is making out.

-edit. Yeah so I missed the bump even with the edited title...

I briefly thought about getting a personal number plate that had my initials. I said this to someone I knew at the time and he laughed when I said my initials were PNS. He said "add 2 vowels". I dropped the idea.

I am not a massive fan of private plates, my dad however bought a whole bunch of private registration plates when we were all kids.

The reg is: R400 BOX

Making use of it since it at least looks interesting and has at least some relevance since it matches my surname.
