was bought from overclockers, and still has a year warranty on it, which the lad said he would be happy to help out with should i have any issues, said he bought 4 of them for a uni project calculating weather

130 :p
temps were at 70c thought it was a little high, cleaned the bog standard thermal crap off and put some silver stuff on it, idling at about 45-50c now, well pleased

well from what im reading, the temps seem to be fine hitting max of about 94c, first i was like wtf?? but reading a review, seems normal (guru 3d quote)

  • R9 290 - The temperature under heavy game stress for the card max out at roughly 94 Degrees C. Overall the gaming temperature hovers in-between 80 and 90 Degrees C.
With today's graphics cards, please make sure your PC is well ventilated at all times, this will seriously help you on the overall GPU temperatures. Now AMD states that the temperature is perfectly normal and within specifications. But we have to admit, that is very high.

currently considering buying an accelero xtreme 3 for it

great little deal you've got yourself there at £140. Didn't realise second hand cards could go for so low.

I bought one about three months back for £130.

Removed my Titan Blacks and gave it a whirl and I must say, I was really impressed.

Yeah they run warm and they're not quiet and make loads of racket.. So do two Titan Blacks with a 770 wedged between them lol.

Sadly it did not work with an.other operating system so I swapped it for a 770. I must say though, it ran BF4 absolutely maxed out like butter. Really did provide a great experience and not one I'm used to with AMD cards !

Now the 7990? that's a whole different story :D

It's absolutely the best thing you can do with a 290 mate :)

They take pretty much any AIO yeah. I recently bought a Corsair H55 which is not the best one available but I got it refurb for £29.

Added to the bracket? it's not really that much more than the Accelero and it'll kick its bum.
