80% marketshare doesn't mean 80% of people like Android. Android has 80% marketshare because it's cheap, not because people like it.

So you're stating as fact that Android only has lion share of the market due to being cheap?
There's no doubt that Android's market share is bolstered by entry level devices and projects such as Android One in developing markets, but people are more than happy to shell out £500+ SIM free or over the course of a contract for premium Android devices such as the Galaxy S5, HTC One etc.
I bought a Nexus 5 not because it's cheap, but because it's pure Android and I don't have to wait 6+ months after a major Android upfate for an OEM to update my phone.
