Best sub £150 Android phone?

I've just bought the 2nd Gen for it's dual sim functionality and it's honestly a superb bit of kit. My wife has the 1st gen and the 0.5" extra makes a huge difference also don't under estimate how much better the camera is on the 2nd gen as it loads better.

Even better is that Lollipop is about to be released shortly and it's actually already out in some countries.

I guess you don't suffer from the apps closing issues then. Must be lucky as there's definitely a bug, it's all over the Motorola forums.

Nope not had single issue but then I don't play games or spend my entire day looking at a phone screen so I've only got about 10 apps installed most of which are email, office or news related.

UPDATE:

So the GF decided she could live with the dying screen on her One, but its pretty much given up the ghost today.

Is the Moto G 2nd Gen still top of the budget smart phone charts? Or shall I get her to use my old phone for a while if theres something new on the horizon?

Personally I went for the 1st gen with G4 because is smaller, has better battery and has 4G. But yes, it's still probably the best budget phone there is and probably will be for a while.

Moto G 4G version is £99 at Tesco from Monday. Absolute bargain.

Asus Zenfone 2 should be out soon too and looks like it will be a real contender in the budget smartphone market.

Got a second gen Moto g for my wife and it's fantastic. The dual SIM was useful for number porting, not so now but I believe they all have them.

Yep they only released the dual sim here because there was no point releasing multiple versions.

Great phones... I have a 2014 Moto X and frankly the new G is probably 80% of that phone for 25% of the price.

Having noticed that Moto G Tesco offer will it match up to replacing my Nexus 4? I've leaned so heavily on it I don't know how I feel about parting with it even though it's clearly broke.

In terms of performance it's a downgrade. I guess the only good thing about the G compared to the N4 is that it's easier to hold.
