Cold Fusion Race just heated up.

Link says results have been verified and replicated.

By a team that conducted the experiment with the original "creator" present and interfering.

Also replicated by other sources, but still yet to see compound proof of it.

Yes I know. All very interesting regardless. Either way, I would like to see this settled, one way or another.

Rofl.
They couldn't see in side it or test it properly. all they did was measure the input and output.

It is still a scam, which is why it won't go away. No different to conspiracy theories that won't go away even though they are plainly stupid.

When I said very interesting I meant the controversy.

i can't find it now but there was a comment on this experiment on a scientific site i read a few months ago that explained that the researchers made a mistake and that if the energy curves were calibrated correctly all the 'extra' energy disappears - its a shame i can't remember what it was but i remember it being very logical and clearly correct, showing the experiment to be nonsense.

so this guy has some magic box that can make atoms undergo 'cold fusion' but he can't explain how it works you've just got to accept that something magical happens inside the box?

Perhaps he should work in the high end HiFi industry - plenty of opportunity for pseudoscience and making magic boxes there

Until independent researchers are allowed to understand exactly what is happening then people won't take him seriously. If it is genuine why not patent it and let others try to reproduce his results.

Before I click on the link to read it, does this involve that Italian guy again?

Yep. Except now the Russians have a conman in the game as well. What has always worried me here is how many people learned so little science at school that they think there's even the slightest chance that this is anything other than a con.

Magic cables are more important! :)

The lack of an explanation isn't a problem in itself - it's possible for someone to discover something without knowing how it works. The lack of independent testing is a different matter. If half a dozen independent labs had boxes to test completely by themselves, that would be strong evidence even if they couldn't open the boxes and had no idea how they worked. It would be possible to confirm a nuclear reaction in a closed box simply because it would produce more energy than could be produced by a chemical reaction.
