I have ordered a MSI GTX 970 and wondering if anyone had any advise on tweaking it to get the best out of it?

I am running it along side a Intel i5 2500k with 8GB of ram..

Download MSI Afterburner when you get it for overclocking and read the threads on here with regards to 970 overclocking.

as above get Afterburner and take it steady. Put the power to 110%

I've got mine at +125 on core and +400 on the memory (1467 inc boost/3903). I also set up a fan profile and temps hover at 60-62 when in full use in FC4 and Skyrim (with many mods running).

I haven't adjusted any volts for this set up and it runs like a dream. Spits out 80+ FPS in Ultra BF4 on 64 player server, 60-80 on ultra on FC4 and 60 flat on Skyrim with ENB mods. all at 1080p.

You'll hopefully enjoy the card as much as me :)

Have you not found that (I have the same GPU) that you can set manual profile keys to switch in game between, for example, a std clock for 2D and an overclocked profile for 3D BUT it will not automatically switch in game when selected to do so.

For some reason it is not automatically switching whilst playing Dying Light unless I manually switch it to profile 2 , the overclocked one.

The 2D and 3D profiles are selected but no auto switching occurs.....

Does it work for you...?

I haven't really messed about with the profile switching so don't really have an answer for you I'm afraid. Someone else might be able to help.

I tend to play mainly 3d games (FPS) so haven't thought about a 2D profile... I just let the card lower the clocks automatically when in windows.

Yes, never put any stuff in that slower half Gig of RAM. :D

All kidding aside, MSI 970 here, non-overclocked, and find that at 1920x1200 it's been perfect straight out of the box. Just make sure you use the latest drivers and you should be good to go.

No worries, sorted. For me, not sure why, G Force experience seemed to prevent the profile switching. Removed that and it has worked since and now switches between a 2D and 3D profile automagically.

I advise you to start spelling it - advice :p

Even at stock settings the 970 will fly through games. Get Afterburner downloaded, if you haven't already, use it to OC your card further if you need to :)
