So my 991 has N0 rated Pirelli Pzero all round with 6mm on them.

245/35/20
295/30/20

They seem to be complete junk, if I put my foot down a little bit in the cold the rear end setups out.

Also if I go around a corner flowery on full lock the front wheels seem to slip. I had the same problem on the Panamera and thought something was wrong with the car.

I am thinking about getting the warranty extended and then changing them for some 5P, F1's or possible michelin super sport.

I have had Pirelli P7's in the past (like a decade or so ago), and found them pretty shocking. Since then I have never felt the need to go back to the brand.

But I thought Pirellis were meant to be good?

TBH for a performance car I don't know why anyones buying anything other than MPSS, theyre stupid good.

But I expect Clarkeys point is valid, its pretty cold and horrible out.

Its cold but down here in London its not that bad. I have not had this with other cars, I just don't feel that confident in this one.

It's a powerful car on UHP summer tyres, of course it slips in the winter?...

My 911 does not.

It's the tyres buddy, the Pzero's hate cold temps and have very little grip.

In these conditions the F1AS2 and MPSS would be an improvement. MPSS is best as they are super on 911's but in these current cold wet condition and can bury the throttle in 2nd with no slip, don't even need to feed it in can just mash the pedal. :D

If however the roads are greasy, no tyre will make a difference.

Confidence is all down to tyres, the cups on the M3 feel damn right scary, the regular Conti M3's much better as they work from cold, but still not great.

The MPSS is the best for confidence as they excel in feel and feedback. :)

That's the very old assymetric 1 so very much worth the extra for the Michelin.

Ah ok, I will get my 111 point check done and then find my self a set of Michelins.

Thanks for the feedback fox.

I tried the pzero a few times on the 996 and the boxster. Couldn't agree more, slippery, loud and expensive. Not very good at all to be honest. Personally I prefer the bridgestones, haven't tried the super sports as I don't think they come in the right size.

I'd go Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Continental ContiSportContact 5P's on everything to be honest

The flaw in this is they are very choosy as to which sizes both of these are offered in - there are a number of high performance cars for which you can get a full set of neither of those.

They fit all good cars :p

I guess for me those two are priority 1, then it's a gradual step along the list until something fits. I'd probably go Goodyears third.
