Just watching a cooking programme on BBC with Angela Hartnett and Tom Kerridge. He's about to slice raw onions. She tells him to stick a spoon in his mouth. He reluctantly does thinking he'll look foolish then has a wow moment. The spoon actually stops you crying when slicing onions. Seemed to work for him. Worth a try maybe. :)

If all else fails it gets a laugh so has that in its favour :p

I find keeping onions in the fridge and using a sharp knife is normally enough personally but each to their own :p

On the subject of teary eyes, I decided to make a horseradish cream sauce from fresh horseradish this Christmas. Blitzed a horseradish root in the food processor then rather foolishly opened the top straightaway to take a look inside - needless to say the old sinuses got a good cleaning there  :p

Learn how to slice them with minimal spray, plenty of videos to show this, by far the better option!

Tongue out is my option. Apparently the vapour that makes your eyes water is most attracted to the most wet areas on your face (eyes). Stick your tongue out and that seems to divert it to your tongue instead!

Onion Vapour gets 'attracted', do you even physics bro?

Never found the spoon thing to work and I don't like contacts. You could use swimming goggles I suppose - either that or MTFU :p
