Best (white) case for 290X Crossfire

I am looking for the best air cooling case that can handle x2 8GB 290X cards in Crossfire. Must be a white case, to fit with the white theme I've got going on in my home office... never been a fan of big black boxes. Seems I've not got THAT many options though. The Corsair Carbide 540 seems well optimised for air cooling, but I've read about QC issues. I currently have an H440, which I love the look of, but from all I've read really won't cope very well with x2 of these cards. I don't need (or really want) optical bays, but outside of the H440, there don't seem to be any cases without them, so I may have no choice there. I would very much like a window. My system is an OC'd 5820k (@4.4), Asus X99-S, 16GB RAM and an 850W EVGA G2 PSU.

Any suggestions?

NZXT Switch 810? Lots of fan options.

But then do you want full tower or midi?
I really don't need a full tower, and ideally don't want anything THAT large. I only have x2 SSD's and a single HD, so there is no need for a gazillion HD bays and optical bays that I'll never use.

Enthoo Luxe or maybe Enthoo Pro
Define R5 front will hide the bays but bigger than you need probably. The R4 might be an option it supports atx board and is smaller.

Silverstone SST-FT05S-W Fortress but again might be too big?

Difficult to get smaller without getting into m-atx form factors only.

Id say enthoo luxe, i have the black vetsion its a beautifull case, i can post some pics later if ypu like

The R5 is a nice looking case, although I love the PSU shroud on the H440, and the R5 bizarrely has you looking down at mechanical drives and an uncovered PSU. Seems an odd design choice. I do like the Phanteks, but there's something about optical bays that just doesn't work for me. I wish the Evolv ATX version was available, as that looks like it could be a great all rounder, but seems like April before that's released.

Corsair 780T..nuff said. Fantastic build quality, bags of room, good cable management and grommet positions, built in fan controller, removable dust filters and a nice big window.

Here's mine with 7950 crossfire

Yeah, that Evolv ATX looks very nice indeed actually. Shame it won't be available until April... not that I'm in a rush. Coolermaster one looks interesting, nice styling, although I really am not a fan of optical bays. I haven't used one in years, and they are just pointless for me. That 690 seems to hide them better than most though, blending in with the mesh.

Unfortunately that case is EOL and no longer available at OcUK. They do however offer the CM Storm Stryker:

Though you mention you are not after uber full tower, so may not be for you.

Yeah, that's probably a bit too 'Transformer' for my tastes lol. Looks interesting though, and good feature set. :)

Already mentioned, but another shout here for the Corsair C70. Great case, absolutely love mine. Ugly window though. £20 will get you a replacement, but then you're looking at over £100 once you're done. Which for a case, is quite a bit of money!

I don't think you can get a GREAT case for less than that these days... well, the Enthoo Pro is pretty damn good by most accounts, and that's £90.

I guess so. Most cases now are near enough identical on the inside anyway. I guess you're either paying for quality build or the name in some cases. (No pun intended.)

Really it's down to how much you want to spend and what you expect to get for your money.

You can put another fan in the other side of the HDD cage like i done when i moved to the GTX690

Glad you liked my suggestion, its a simple minimalist exterior, with enough room for what you want I think. My cousin had 182 and it was very quiet running from what I remember. :D
