970 to 980 ?

I have to say I'm very suprised that so many peoples reaction to finding out that their Nvidia card might not perform quite as well as they were lead to believe is to immediately go and give Nvidia even more money by upgrading to a 980?
I imagine Nvidia are somewhat happy that this massive PR problem has seemingly resulted in a large increase in sales of their high margin flagship product!

Pretty much sums up my thoughts for the past few days reading the forum. lol.

How true. Nvidia just shafted their customers and they were like "ooohh, that hurt" then unexpectedly they say "go on, a little deeper :)".

:rolleyes::p:o

I've went from SLI to single card, and I'll do a lot more homework before upgrading. Before this, I wouldn't even consider AMD, but that isn't the case now.

Nvidia aren't bulletproof in my eyes.

I think the issue is most people (me included) didn't want to drop down from the 970 so the 980 was the logical choice, I'm not an AMD fan really so I felt like I had no other option, still really unhappy with NVidia though but I buy to suit my needs.

Well since i have the ROG Swift AMD it is a no starter for me because gsync is fantastic. I wont even try asking OCUK to refund the swift as well so I can hold out for a freesync monitor.

I get my 2 Kafa2 980's tomorrow and am looking forward to see how it all pans out.

If I had not got the g-sync monitors then tbh I still think I would have gone with Nvidia even though what has happened and their response has been crap!

I have not had a great deal of luck with AMD over the last 2 years driver wise and before people start yelling "fanboy" ect I aint its just how my own experience has been between the two.

Again fantastic customer care by OC it really is fantastic to see great customer care as it is rare these days !!

Exactly why I'll be getting the 980

I can't say I am surprised that people have gone from the 970 to the 980. Anything else is a downgrade unless you game at max details at 4K but then you will need 3 or 4 of the 6 or 8 GB cards to do that with some games.

My KFA2 isn't due for delivery until 2-3pm but I will report back how it sounds in comparison to my current G1 970. :)

I have the galax/kfa2 gtx 980 soc have had it roughly around 2 months now fantastic card seriously it aint loud overclocks even further like mad such a great card plays everything i have on best settings you wont be dissapointed. I did read up on the bios but im not sure where to get it eiether
