Hi guys, been a few months since I was last on the forums but I'm back now and was wondering if I should upgrade my computer? I've been using my PC for just over a year now and I have been very pleased with the performance of my computer, but with new games rolling out soon like GTA V and Project Cars I was wondering if it was maybe time I should upgrade my PC. My current PC is in my signature and I was maybe thinking along the lines of possibly a SSD but this would not aid my gaming performance, or maybe get a Intel Core i5 4690K since my current CPU doesn't provide overclocking capability which is something I would really like to look into as I have done a fair amount of overclocking on my 270X getting a gain of about 100MHz on stock voltage (since I can't increase the voltage). The other option I have been looking at is too get a new graphics card, one card that I'm particulary interested in is the GTX 970, I feel it would provide the best performance for my budget. I also looked at the GTX 960 but I feel it would not give much of a performance boost. I also won't be ordering this till around March. Hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction, thanks in advance.

LE = limited edition, small number of cards for that price.

The Vapor-X is an excellent cooler and one of the best available ever fitted to a 290/290, custom PCB too.

Might be wrong here, but isn't LE Lite Edition? Just that's the case with the Lightning cards, there's the standard Lightning and the LE (light edition) which is in essence the same as the standard one just has a small clock defecit

MSI 290X Gaming - 1040Mhz
MSI 290 Lite Edition - 1020Mhz

or something like that? May be wrong though

You are wrong as I asked Gibbo;)

An SSD would definitely be a nice upgrade. But if you're waiting for GTA V, a GPU would be a wise choice. I'd go for a 970 nonetheless tbh, I'm assuming you game on 1080p. 8GB 290x won't utilize the full 8GB unless crossfired..
