Hi guys,
before i lay this post out, I want you all to know that I have been searching google for weeks and can't find anything that has helped.

So, to the problem! I bought the car in early December and found out straight away it was faulty, it just cuts out when I slow down/put the clutch down sometimes and im left without power steering and the battery light. The guy offered to repair twice and couldn't so i asked for a refund which he said no to, so thats out of the question.

The car is an 08 Citroen C2 1.1i vibe Petrol if this helps at all?

Thanks!

I think you should take it to a garage that knows what they are doing.

The engine in that although fuel injected is ANCIENT and as such shouldn't take anyone worth their salt too long to figure out why it cuts out / has a erratic idle.

Thats another thing to mention actually, it idles either too low (around 750 - 900) or sticks at about 1.5 - 2.5 thousand.

Did you happen to solve the issue?

yes, basically the part that had worn was plastic and it ment that the throttle cable was releasing too far = idle too low, rather than replace the part, they melted some more plastic onto it where it was worn

Thats a great idea. Since negotiations failed with the original garage, would you say its possible for me to get it repaired then take him to small claims court for the bill? I dont really think i should be paying it, and i can barely afford it (this car took 2.3k out of me and im all out of money now! major set back when you are 21 and just moved out)

Wow they really did that? Sounds so ghetto, but if it works what the hell! :P
